How to Make a Smoking Pipe out of an Apple

You may find yourself in a position where you want to smoke but do not have a pipe. The only thing to do is to make one. Many find this task daunting, but it really is not that large an endeavour at all. Apple pipes are about the cheapest makeshift pipes there are, and the easiest to make. They are also a preference because they improve the taste of the smoke and when you are done, there is no evidence.



Tools for the Job

You will need:

* A knife; skinny and as long as the radius of the apple
* An apple

Picking out the Apple

The apple you use should be relatively small and hard. You do not want it to be pithy or juicy. All of your smoking material should fit in the indentation in the top of the apple.

The Construction

For the bowl you will be using the area at the top where the stem is, so pull out the stem. Then follow the simple instructions below.

Take the knife and place the point in the indentation. Plunge the knife into the apple 3/4 of the way down. Do not make the cut from the plunge any greater than the width of the knife. The cut should radiate from the centre of the indent. Repeat this step two or three times.

Push the knife into the side of the apple from where you want to put your mouth. The knife needs to point in the direction of the centre of the apple. When the knife reaches the core, twist it to create a bore to the centre, thus creating a means to inhale.

Final Touches

All that is left to do is to dry the top and use the pipe. To use the pipe, put the material to be smoked in the indentation and pack it as you would any bowl. Light it up and inhale with the hole in the side of the apple. Since the pipes do not keep very long, you should make one each time you want to use one. Once you are finished smoking, you can, if you wish, eat the apple.

I think using a pen is way safer when making an apple pipe. I just take one, make sure it's all screwed together real tight, pull out the stem, stab that s.o.b. down where the stem was, then I pick out a good spot on the side of the apple, and do the same, stab it into the apple untill I reach the center. Then I pressure test it (make sure I can get the seeds out, nothing blows more than when you're taking a fatty rip and get an apple seed down your throat!) And if all is well, I go and enjoy my apple flavored weed

I also heard smoking weed from an apple is a little healthy or nutritious from burning it.

I like this guys tutorial, but one thing I will note: you dont have you use the pen for stabbing the down hole down- I like to use a small screwdriver. and I like to stab the hole all the way threw and use it as a carb. makes a guetto pipe work that much better, lol.

Lol I use to make one of these every once in a while, when I burned at school and then Id eat the rest of the apple cuz Id want something to eat, never ate the resi bits cuz it tasted like shit but, shoulda cuz maybe it coulda added to the THC intake?

For added style, if you have a cone piece handy (I use a socket piece) then you can put it in the top so u hav a proper bowl for your bud.

Other than missing a pen/screwdriver/whatever you use (I like a particular sewing tool) good tutorial!

Seeing the replies to this thread, can you wonder that when I posted the same thread on 420magazine, it got deleted, as it violated some stupid rules they had... I've stopped surfing that site now... prefer stoner forums.com over every other such site/forum.

Eating the stems does, so I don't see why eating the res wouldn't..

I did this at the very beginning of my smoking career...
but now I've progressed to bigger fruits (no homo) and bigger pieces...

if you dont like the hole on the top made by the pen u can make a perfect apple-bowl peice with a knife. just cut out a small cone shape around the apple stem so that it leaves it with a tiny hole in the middle where the stem was, then take it out, then make the top hole where the stem was like usual then place the apple bowl piece back over it!
i figured this out recently..try it out...heres the finished product!

I laughed pretty hard when I seen this, back in school we always did this lol, easy to dispose of, gets rid cotton mouth a bit, helps with munches and its about the least obviouse thing you could use. We just made them a little different back in the day, instead of making it like a steam roller with the bowl on the end and where the ash has a direct shot to burn the shit outta your tounge, we would put the bowl on the side of the apple like a regular pipe and just use a pen or pencil to remove the center half way in, works great.

No really, I read somewhere that eating a mango before smokin will lead to a more intense high.

Something to do with this chemical known as Mycrene in mangoes and if you eat one an hour before smokin this chemical will cause the THC to cross the blood-brain barrier better. Therefore, creating a better high for the stoner...

this has been on my todo list for a long time, deffinatly how i will smoke the next time..quick question tho...dose smoking threw an apple or whatever it is u use make the smoke taste like it?
