A deer ate my plant last night. The only place I can grow is in the woods and I really want to try it again but I dont want animals eating it. Is there anything I can do to keep animals away?

Predator urine. You can probably find something like that, it will repel herbivores. Possibly even your own. I'm not saying on the plants, but establish a perimeter with it.

As osprey said make a perimeter using urine, your own works great so will human hair.

Im sorry but I disagree, I hunt deer and I've pissed around my deer stand just because I couldnt hold it anymore and an hour later a few deer walked out. I know that human shit keeps animals away so if I HAVE to I'll even take a shit out there lol. If it keeps my dank safe I'll do it

if you hunt deer, they will seek revenge on your loved ones...kinda like the mafia! lol...you could use some carpenters cloth(metal mesh screen) thats what we use on our young trees, make wide, tall ring around the plant & curve some over the top..light and water gets in but deer, rabbits etc can't

i forgot..you'll need something like zip ties or copper wire(what i use) to hold cloth together..as the plant grows you can make the circle wider

Maybe some mothballs? They repel deer so if you wanted to throw a few down I'm sure it would help.

not tryin' to flame the thread, but I've used my own urine successfully for years.it takes a good amount to be effective.I pee into 2 liter soda bottles and when i visit my garden I pour the pee within 3-5 feet of my plants.they are in more peril while they're young.seems to me they cause they grazing animals dont like the taste of cannabis after it gets about2 feet tall.but I never stop using pee and I try to use it everytime I visit and after every rain.animals smell the urine and sense predators.I'm sure nothings fool proof, but it works for me.also another tip about varmints;they can smell or sense moisture or water in plants, which puts plants grown in the woods that you water in peril when grown around a forrest full of plants that only get water when it rains.sort of an animals seek and destroy mechanism for survival.so I always try and discourage them from my babies.and for me its urine, lots of it and often.I'll admit,I had to learn the hard way too and I may lose a few in the future, but my loss rate is maybe 1 or 2 plants a year to predators and thats almost always when they're young.enlighten and expand,'Buz

I have found the best way to save your outdoor grow from deer and such is to start them inside for about a month. As someone else said deer tend to hate the taste when they reach a certain height. Past couple of outdoor grows i've lost maybe 4 plants due to animals. Using ur own pee is good too. Scares the shit out of deer.

I grow full size plants in a remote location and I've had trouble with deer eating my plants in the past. This year I used a product called Liquid Fence Deer and Rabbit Repellent that I picked up at Tractor Supply. Monthly treatments and didn't need to be reapplied after a rain. No problems this year. Even saw hoof prints where they walked right by and never touched them.

there are lots of ways to keep deer away, their very sensitive to things in their environment and especially humans. you leave a scent everywhere you go, which is why that one kid must be the luckiest deer hunter in the world cuz ive never heard of that happening.

piss is very good, but as said..your gonna need a lot of it, and it may be beneficial to just buy some from a tractor supply store as stated above. i know i also saw some stuff at walmart for about 12 bucks thats supposed to repel deer and rabbits. ive also read that dryer sheets work too. there are several deer trails in the area im planting so im super nervous about them gettin my babies. ill be pullin out all the guns to keep them back.

keep us posted on what you do, itll be interesting to see what actually works.

Fresh urine wont have much of a smell. Try pissin in a bottle or something the day before. leave it uncooled over night. the next day or two later itll stink pretty damn bad. thats what scares the deer away because they can smell it from a greater distance
