Can I take clones from a plant that is showing sex?

    I'm growing several strains, one of which is The Blac,(B.C.Buddepot) It just started to show female sex organs this week under 18 hours of light. Im glad that its a female being the only strain I ordered that was'nt feminized, but can I still take clones off of her?? Thanks guys Ill keep posting pics as I go along,,:harvest:;bonghit

    Yeah mate, no problems. I often take my clones up to 28 days into flower. You're still in veg. Really you don't want to take clones until they do sex so that you know you are taking them from a female "mother".

    Heres what I have done over the years/decades
    I get the seeds to a point where I can get at least 2 clones.
    Making sure to mark them all
    Start the clones and once, one root shows , 1/2 are forced into 12/12
    Now I know who are males , chuck them.
    Than you can try the strain out with the females that have been forced to bloom
    This way you can try what the strain will be and also you can harvest at different times.
    You find out , what are females , when to harvest (by tricome color).

    I find 10 days into bloom,hormones are at best for rooting,also reverting is avoided.

    Some people feed bloom/flower nutes in veg before taking clones to improve rooting.

    Went out and checked the ladies today and there already in flower.Took 15 cuttings just to keep her genes around C/O Shoreline.I repotted a mom and put her inside under the lights.Just to make sure.The strain was started in the early 80's.Only afew people are lucky enough to get em.Ya can google it.:harvest:

    I try to but I do ease up on the Nitrogen 4 days before,sometimes longer.Old habit from cloning difficult strains.

    Sorry for being short,studies have shown its best to take clones at this stage,not only for perpepual harvests.
    The hormones at there strongest for rooting,it makes for great timing as when bloom is finished clone is well veged.

    I had some plants that just didnt take off, but they smell and look super after i finally just threw them out of the grow room and put them outside. They are pityful small but are good genetics. ( i had problems w/ containers they were in)

    I took some clips but I am more then half way through flower.

    What are the pros/cons and will it work?
