Had to split this into 2 messages. First one was too long.

Water whenever the soil is dry at a depth of 2-3". That could be every 2nd or 3rd day, depending on how hot and dry your closet is. If Onyx is anything like Mi5, expect nice tight buds and a strong odor and a very potent smoke. Mi5 is the strongest high of any autos I've grown.

I just started my first indoor grow. I've got 12 Diesel Ryders that are about 10 days old. I've using the FF Ocean Forest with sphagnum peat moss at a 5 to 1 ratio. Don't have enough head room for the Onyx or Mi5 so staying with the dwarfs in there. I'm very curious to see how they do compared to the ones I grew outdoors last year.

Let me know if there's anything else. Glad to help.

Glad to help if I can. I've got Onyx seeds I plan on growing this year. I grew Mi5, which is the sister of Onyx so I expect it should grow very similarly. I've never grown with cfls so can't help there. A good soil mix like Fox Farms Ocean Forest would be good. I mixed my own last year using 4 parts Miracle Grow Garden soil, 2 parts peat humus, 2 parts sphagnum peat moss and 1 part worm castings. Worked pretty good. This year I'm trying the Fox Farms as I've heard lots of good reports about it. I used 3 gallon pots which were the perfect size. The nutrients in the soil should be sufficient for veg, which should only be about 4-5 weeks. Once they start to flower I'd suggest something like Fox Farms Big Bloom or anything similar. Start out with a weak solution, maybe 1/4 strength, and work up, keeping an eye on the plants to see how they respond.

I feel like Eric Clapton, I need your help. I am starting my first closet grow. I got 5 feminized onyx seeds and 2 mystery kush seeds on their way. I read another review online that bashed onyx. I got it for the higher yield and the fact that when it came to description of high, it was high as a kite! I have decided to use 6 cfl's trying to figure out the wattage currently. Also, I was curious about soil, nutrients and watering practices. I know you grew it outdoors but I hope with your experience you could really give me some ideas. Thanks in advance
