games in general. From Super Mario Bros. back in the day to metroid, to fuckin tetris, Zelda, Super Mario Kart to GoldenEye and Perfect Dark, FZero racing games.

A few years ago, Electronic Gaming Monthly had a special 100th issue that featured a list of the top 100 games of all time. Each entry had a screenshot, a description of the game, their explanation of why it made the list, an odd fact about the game, and the "coolest part." The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for the SNES made #3. They listed for the "coolest part" --
"Remember seeing the rain for the first time? Remember thinking how awesome your Super Nintendo is when you saw that rain?"

I started with the old Atari 2600...saved a lot of quarters that way. Nintendo came along and I had to press the reset button to get my son to come to dinner some days. I played game boy thru half my tour in the gulf during Desert Storm and beat Tetris and Dr. Mario while over there. I still play Game Cube and PS2 but don't spend the whole day with them anymore.

dude, my freind has an atari flashback. IT IS THE SHIT! Galga, Dig Dug, Combat, Pong, Outlaw, and many more built into the machine. it even has a joystick controller with oe button. i kicked the shit out of him at combat.

It's pretty awesome. It even has Adventure, which is notable for being the first piece of software with what is now known as an "Easter Egg" in it. I only wish it had The Empire Strikes Back. (Which was also the first Star Wars video game!) I played the living hell out of that game. | |
