Best Guitar Hero songs to play blazed??

For those of you who waste as much time getting ripped and ripping solos as me, what are your favorite songs to play?

Since I'm a huge dork, I'll go ahead and post two of my faves from each game:

Guitar Hero 1:
Texas Flood
Bark at the Moon

Guitar Hero 2:
Free Bird (Obviously)
YYZ

Rocks the 80s:
Play With Me
Synchronicity II

Guitar Hero 3:
Cliffs of Dover
Knights of Cydonia


And I think GH3 definitely has the best blazed playlist... altho while GH2 doesn't have as many great songs, the ones it does have are so good they make up for it.

Would anyone be interested in doing some sort of Guitar Hero competition thingy? I'm not sure how many people have the game, but if there are more than just a couple of us, it might be kind of cool to have a "song of the day" and then post scores to see who comes out on top. It would have to be on the honors system, though... or if we ended up hardcore about it, we could always take pictures or something. Just a thought.

I find myself thinking Guitar Hero is getting a little stale because I only have myself to battle. I play on expert, but I wouldn't have a problem going down a level or two if other people didn't want to do expert.

Since I dont own a PS2 or X360 blah blah blah I only played the game once.


GH III: ONE and Slow Ride Only two songs I could actually finish lol (took me about 20 minutes to figure out all the tricks and stuff)

To those saying get a real guitar, fuck yourselfs. Why dont you go join a real war, or join a major league fucking sports team? I own a real guitar, and I still think Guitar Hero is fun. On a lighter note, anyone here play RockBand? Just got it, and it owns real hard.

i have strong mixed feelings about this game.

on the one hand, it is a game. it takes one aspect of life and virtualizes it. and in a similar fashion to the tony hawk games, it receives flak from people because the person playing the game could just as easily be doing the actual thing they are imitating in the game. while that was not always the case with skate games(cant skate in harsh weather), the guitar hero games fall into that mold wonderfully. especially considering the game and the equipment will run you just as much(if not more) than a real guitar and amp.

the one really good thing that i think this game will do for society is that it will weed out all of the talentless or nearly no talent bands from ever existing. imagine if green day(haha, just using an example here), instead of picking up some guitars when they were teenagers, picked up a copy of this game. they would have spent their time playing it instead of barely learning how to play their real instruments, and the world would have been saved from having to hear their mass produced crap.(once again, was just using green day as an example, whether the music is actually good or bad is inconsequential, i grew up on it, so its decent to me)
and i know for a fact that the game can inspire people to pick up a real guitar and try to learn how to play, my girlfriends brother had the game for awhile and went and got himself an actual guitar recently.

so i would guess...that having both options(real one and the game) available to you to play at all times, it would really depend on ones mood. a person doesnt always feel like doing certain things.

anyways, this was all just a bunch of stoned morning rambling.

The game+guitar costs 100 dollars. A real guitar + amp and all other accessories you need to play and sound good will end up costing you thousands.

but on the note of real equipment costing thousands, youre off a bit there. a good guitar can be had for around 300 bucks. back in 99 i bought a new ibanez bass with a small fender amp for 325$. the only difference in spending more money at that point made was to make myself louder with bigger and better amps. and yeah, the amps can get expensive. but typically you dont spend thousands on amps and equipment unless you are in a band that is playing around town and bringing in a little income in itself.

I play guitar... that's why I bought Guitar Hero in the first place.

And YES, Rock Band does own pretty hard. My buddy down the street got it 2 days ago, and I spent from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. playing with him 2 days ago and from noon to 1 a.m. playing yesterday. It's ridiculously sweet.

And, FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NEGATIVE THOUGHTS ABOUT THESE GAMES:
Not only have I loosened up my fingers enough through Guitar Hero to become better at playing solos on real guitar, but after two days of playing Rock Band, I went on my roommate's real drum set and started laying down a beat with absolutely no experience whatsoever. I even was able to throw in some fills and that's all due to the video game.

So.. put that in your pipe and smoke it.
Rather, put some green in. Peace is so much better.
