Tells me that people are tools. Saying Halo 3 is a great game because its sold a lot of units is like saying Windows is a good operation system because its in common use(and anyone who claims windows is a good OS gets a boot up the ass).

FFX? Final Fantasy 10? There are a lot of better games than Final Fantasy 10... Since thats such a genre crossing claim though, maybe you mean a differant FFX?

I knocked it before I played it, but the things I knocked it for then are the same things I'm knocking it for now that I have played it. Its a good title to sit down and rock some multiplayer(even if the online crowd are a bunch of hooting dickholes who only have a live account because their mum lent them the credit card) but not a lot else there. Overrated is the first word that comes to mind when I think Halo 2/Halo 3. The first Halo was a masterpiece in its day but its children fail to bring much new to the table.

A matter of opinion of course, it just so happens your opinion is wrong. I don't own a 360 but I've spent a good deal of time with them since friends of mine own them. Gears of War, Bioshock, and COD4 are all much better games than Halo 3. Its a good game, but everyone seriously needs to get off Bungie's dick so they'll feel customer pressure and put out a game as innovative as the first one

sorry halfoot, i forgot my opinion counts for shit, despite being a hardcore gamer since the days of commodore 64 and beyond...

your main blast for halo 3 is the annoying kids that play, i agree... i also hate those (no coincidence most turn out to be american)... but they do have a mute button for a reason you know ... also forget the fact i played online Halo 3 in split screen with a close friend and partyed up with my best friend for 12 hours the other night and had so much fun kickin the crap out of the self-proclaimed halo gods with my best friends... even found a good bunch of other people to play with who were older than 12....

you assume too much dude, i play halo and i'm 23... not 12...

further more i did not say halo 3 was one of the best, but it sure as hell aint half as bad as what you describe...

also, theirs nothing new about bioshock that impresses me (and i have played it) and Gears of war isn't a fps, it's a third person shooter...

as for the orange box, the only thing that peaked my interest there was the portal, despite it's boringness of not actually having anything to kill, it still has an air of originality about it...

but yet again these are all my opinions and they count for shit... to you... but they are my opinions and i AM entilted to them, for you to say they are wrong is just arrogant and ignorant... even your first post in this thread you said you haven't played it, what right do you have to blast my opinion when i HAVE played it... extensively?

play the game first before you form a judgement of it.

I think my problem is I don't translate to the internet well.

Now, Wesley, I am aware that you are not one of the 12 year old snotnosed halo brats, and I actually do value your opinions as a gamer, probably more than anyone else on SF based on what I've read.

Also, I never said Halo was BAD, I just said it was nothing really new. About the only major game-changer I've seen in the 3rd one is the addition of different kinds of grenades and items, which adds a nice twist to combat sometimes, but is hardly earth shattering.

I don't think Halo is BAD I just think its overrated.

Also, if you scroll on up there, my first post said I heard halo was supposed to be fun but I had heard better things about Bioshock, and that I had played Bioshock(at PAX) and it was really good.

I don't know if you didn't read it or I didn't write it but I have played Halo 3 now, quite a bit actually while I hang out with my friends, which is what I've said is Halo 3's main selling point here. I'm just not willing to declare the game overlord of xbox land based on a well put together multiplayer. I haven't sat down with it, but if they didn't fuck it up in the port FEAR is another good example of a better game than Halo 3(and if they did fuck up the port, the computer version then). The AI is sharp, the time warp thing, while certainly not necessarily original, is well implemented, the guns are more interesting, and the multiplayer is more challenging.

You did catch me stonin on the GOW thing though, its been a while and I forgot that one was third person! Stoner moment I suppose

no worries dude, i have no pot so am a little grouchy, probably said some nasty things which i wouldn't say otherwise and apologise for... just pissed off at some personal shit right now...

but if theres one thing i know about the games industry is don't trust the hype, for any game... even the new GTA could be a steaming pile of shite for all anyone knows, won't stop the masses (or me ) from buying it though...

guess what i'm trying to say is that for games (and life in general) everyones taste is different and you can't rely on anyones opinions, it's the old saying "don't knock it till you've tried it"

your opinion of a particular game may be different from mine or anyone elses, who is right or wrong? no-one, it just depends on how much you like a game and what genres your into... for instance i'm a career FPS player so i don't see a lot of originality in between these games (point and shoot, point and shoot), it's more about the fun factor and Halo is still a fun game to play, sequels generally don't stray too far from the original, but give the online players new maps and toys, as you said, to play with... saying that, i never played the other halo's online so i can't really knock this one (truth be told i was never a huge halo fan to begin with), but if something works then why try to fix it?

and i know better than anyone that the average gamer will swallow the crap/hype that the industry and media feed them... for example Assasin's Creed - very beautifull game, but past that not much else of a game, no challenge to it at all, the freerunning is just holding down 2 buttons and goin forward, the fighting is so non-complex it's laughable (counter attacking is soo easy i never get a single hit on me when fighting 20 guys).

anyhoo, rant done...

my proffessional opinion of Halo 3 is that it's an above average game with a decent original story and an extremely fun and varied multi-player, but i've played better

COD4 anyone?

nuthin beats a good Halothon with your mates though, just keep the chat private or mute the annoying players (i usually just tell em to shut it in a very scottish way lol) :P

Another thing that i like about Halo 3 is that Bungie keep track of every single match, every single kill and death for every single player, even what weapon you used to kill or was killed with, all on Bungie.net.... i've had almost 1000 games online of Halo 3 and i can still go back and look at the stats for my first ever game.... which i won by a stretch as well lol... and the medals are awesome too... The recording feature and Theater mode is genius too... you can't exactly watch a replay of your matches for COD4 now can you.... i also plan to use it to make some cool Machinima (movies/shows made with games, like Red Vs Blue) once i get a capture card for my pc
