It seems like this thread has died, but I intend to check for myself when my Buddha arrives. Around here we have a company called Harbor Freight. When it comes to tools of almost any kind on the cheap you should go there. You can order online or they'll send you a catalog if you need one. Otherwise; my company sells just about every piece of equipment you could need. I don't have a website since I am small and do all the hunting/research myself, but if you need me to find you something and ship it to you in the US I'd be happy to help. Let me know and I'll get you pricing.
Other than that, I'll be using an IR or Laser thermometer for measurements (the thermocouplers I've had experience with are too delicate) and I'll do some tests about a week from now. I'll post the results and the method by which I reached them.

I'm just glad to have someone with results to compare to. All I need now is my Buddha. I've sent 7thLevel an e-mail or two and given them a few days, but nothing yet. I hope the backorder issue is long past.

Just so this thread doesn't outright die I thought it would be nice to mention I've attempted several ways to test temperature outputs on DaBuddha, but have been getting jankey results. The laser thermometer I have doesn't go high enough or allow you to test the temperature of the ambient air in the glass cylinder...it tests what it hits...the glass or the core. Even a thermocoupler device on a Polder reader shows unlikely and varrient results so I don't trust it. That's where I gave up.
