finding treasures..

Recently...
on one of my work travels..
i discovered the term...
" it used to belong to a little Ol lady"
the term used by like car dealers ......

on location: big island hawaii

As i was looking around the
farm for locations to shoot some cuts.....i saw this garage..i looked in..
and didnt think it was light enough to shoot in...then i looked closer..
it was like a car show room...each car was in a
order by the year including the dust..lol..vintage cars...this was a treasure to me..it wasnt like i was car buff...althought i do like cars..
it made a story for me..of the person i came to shoot....
who would imagine.. in the middle no where....
on the big island ...a vintage car collection
owned by the little..
"Ol lady"..........

The volks wagon....is owned by a another 82 year old..
living on Oahu..
She keeps it in the back yard slightly covered up..
she bought it brand new..and had it ever since..
she doesnt drive now...but she now keeps it as a
memory piece..her and husband..buying their first
new car together....VW...bug...Island style..

Man those pics make me sooo homesick. Not the cars but the back ground foliage. The mangoes and plumeria and so on! Could be anywhere I suppose but it looks like Kealakekua. Please post more! I have been in Oregon for almost 4 months but I get out of here on Oct 1st. Not back to the Big Island until Oct 21st after a honeymoon on Kauai for about 3 weeks or so.

Where are you staying? What are you filming?

I have some big lava tubes near the back of my property; my friend and I went into one of them a little way and found goat skulls and pig bones...we thought we should get a camcorder to video tape when we go in with lights and a string to find our way back out. Can you use a lava tube for anything? Maybe I can get my fiance to go take a picture of the entrances of the two bigger ones. She doesn't really like to go back there but she would do it.
