I usually light up from the side. I like to be generous to the people takin' hits after me. Like you said, no one likes people who hog the bowl.

It's called cornering the bowl in my area. It is common practice, it seems inconsiderate not to do so.

I think it should be part of every stoner's ettiquette.

me and my friends have mastered cornering, we got 14 hits out of one bowl

If it's dank then I will torch the side to save greens, but if it's reggie then I could care less if you cash the bowl in a single hit. Just load another bowl, then it's my turn

Don't bother asking me if we should load another bowl. The anwser is and always will be YES

doin it on the sides only an issue if you don't pull your bowl through, which you should. If you cant pull your bowl through its best to pack small cones, that way you will pull it through and you don't wanna worry about ruinin the greenness.

Generally I light to the side. Like others have said above, I enjoy firing up greens for more then one hit.
Especially when I am with a group of friends and we are passing a bowl around. I consider it good stoner etiquette to share the greens with everybody However, you gotta do what you gotta do!

The side is the polite thing to do.

I hit from the side then move around, in a circular motion for a nice even burn. And you don't clear it.

whenever me and my friends smoke, we always just light all the green at once, we dont give a fuck bout it. beter smokin times when you dont worry bout the weed u got going, juss think bout wat u got left. untill were almost out, then we try to savor it.

I've never actually paid attention to how a lit a bowl. I'm pretty sure when I'm out smoking with my friends we just hit the greens all at once, with the usual 4 or 5 people we pack the bowl often so we all usually get a hit of the greens.

I'll start paying attention to that now.
