We're still trying to figure out if we've been ripped off or not.
My boyfriend and I meet up with this guy two nights ago and give him over $250 ($100 of it is for another friend of ours). This dealer is a friend of a friend, and we'd been buying from him a couple of times before. This guy is sort of a tweaker, he will always forget that he is meeting us somewhere and we'll always have to wait longer for him, and once he gave us our weed wrapped in a napkin! Anyways, we meet up with him at his girlfriend's apartment complex. He comes to our car and says "Ok, this is the deal, I'm giving you this $400 gift card to Best Buy as collateral in case I don't get back to you tonight. That's money for my XBox, so don't spend it on me! Are you guys going out to eat? Cool, my girl and I are going Christmas shopping, and we'll call you after we're done."
We didn't think too much of it, though right away my boyfriend was saying, "man I hope he didn't just rip us off."
So a few hours go by, we didn't hear anything from him. So we call him and don't get an answer. I decided to check the balance of the gift card on Best Buy's website. There was only $2.06 on it. Now we're like "Fuck! We got scammed!" So now we're pissed. We start calling him over and over and finally his girlfriend picks up! She gives us this bullshit excuse that her boy got busted for a DUI and is in jail right now and they won't post bail until the next day! So now we really think we're being screwed over and we call a mutual friend of ours to see what they think and they say they haven't talked to the guy in a while because he has been getting into some shady shit.
We check the County Sheriff's website the next day where they post all the arrests from the day before and his name is nowhere to be found for the day he was supposedly arrested. Now we really know they're lying to us.
We are trying to figure out what to do, if we should track this guy down, go to his girlfriend's apartment complex and stake him out, or what. We find out our mutual friend is having a party this weekend and he's going to invite the shady dealer so that we can confront him.
THEN we FINALLY got a phone call from him earlier this evening. He tells my boyfriend that he really was in jail and that he's so sorry and that he'll get us our money back and a "little extra," but that he needs to wait until tomorrow after he gets a check from his mom since he spent all his money on bail.
We're still not quite sure what to believe. It's a big "coincidence" that he gave us collateral in case "something happened" that night and something actually (supposedly) did. But if worse comes to worse, we know where his girl lives, and we know what his car looks like...
Well first of all......never trust anyone who gives you something as colleteral, chances are if they're willing to give it so freely, its too good to be true.
second of all, get your money back, then proceed to inform every stoner you know, and have them inform others etc etc not to ever buy from him again, that will hurt his business and he'll soon end up not being able to deal anymore.
These type of idiots dont seem to realize that we rely on them for our herbal remedies, thats OUR money they're messing with and sooner or later someone will beat him down for that. Personally, I dont do "Friends of a friend" stuff, I suggest you find someone who you can deal with directly, someone trustworthy. To me, I'd rather go without than try to find some type of shady mofo I dont trust.
Those who do that crap, they poorly represent the stoner community and they should be tied up and forced to listen to Barry Manilow for hours on end while also being forced to smoke things like Dillweed and Oregano and other spices.

I only buy of people I know personaly. For example; my main dealer is a blood realitive of one of my bong buddies. You need to be careful in this biz boys.
i guess ive been "quality" ripped off before, more than once or twice...220.00 pr oz of kush is just too good to be true....
my wife however bought a bag of leaves (not sure what kind) mixed with dirt on the big island of Hawaii when she was there for her graduation trip....local "brah" told her it was hash and weed mixed together....LMAO
I have been ripped off many many time's however when you want to get hi your gonna get what you can. Sometime's you have to deal with sorry ass dealers not alot you can do when you want to smoke weed but cant find a dealer thats worth a shit. Best thing to do if you have this prob is to grow your own KEEP SMOKING PEACE

Yeah, I've been ripped off a few times before. I'm more careful about who I buy weed from now. I've also sold weed for too high of a price, but I really need the money for more weed to smoke and sell. As soon as I grow I'll be able to lower my prices, which should be soon...

Need too surround your self with some loyal stoner's and that wont happen.And believe their are many different kind of stoner's but most wont rip another stoner off we tend to help our fellow man and always try to help each other when it comes to the great Cannabis plant.But then you have to judge everyone for who they are

That really sucks, I can get you .5 grams of some bomb shit for $10... if you were here, in California.
I've been hit twice by the same scam, back in the days when I had to buy herb that is. I call it the Apartment scam, here's how it works. You pick up someone you don't really know too well, usually a friend of a "friend" (no real friend would help someone rip you off!). They are going to get you some weed from thier dealer who lives in a large apartment complex. They say that the dealer doesn't want strangers inside, so they take your money and go in by themselves to get the bag. Instead of returning with your goods, they walk into the building and out the other side never to return.
After the first time this happened I found myself in a similar situation months later. I made sure that they guy knew I wasn't handing him money till I saw some weed, so he offered to let me hold his QP of "hash" (it wasn't really hash) till he got back. Of course he never came back with my ounce of mids or my $120. The "hash" was some kind of dark green putty like material that sort of smelled like incense. I still haven't figured out what it was????
Bottom line, don't give anybody any money till you see/smell/hold the goods.

Couple of times people have sold me standard weed, which is fully wounded cos as soon as you get it you may aswell throw it in the nearest drain.
Bare people sell small sized draws, telling you its some cheese or something, but still, as soon as you look at a draw you know wether its worth it. but then again people can weigh a ten at 1.0g and it can still be 4 fat zoots. but i know a couple man who dont fuck about and will sell you 1.7 ten and 3.5 ballers regardless of what bud it is, so its blessed.
On the other hand, my first dealer ever was a real business man. He understood the notion of return business. I'd be low on the flow sometimes, show up and ask to buy a joint for $5, he'd hook me up with a 1/8oz for $5, cuz he knew I'd be back on payday. Now that's more than a dealer, that's a friend. He's not my dealer anymore, but he's still my friend, lol.
Rip off's are just a part of the game of prohibition. Poeple who steal from others always end up alienating themselves in the end.

yes!! I told a guy i wanted to buy 2 dime bags, i wait for him at said location, he shows up with 2 mexicans, gives me ONE bag, and i hand him a $20 because i was expecting 2 bags, and he leaves, i suppose it was my fault, but he could have gave me my change back at least =(
