Ok after having a chat with a member from usa who is interested with european football, i thought i would make a thread for anyone interested in the sport and would like to learn more, to post your questions here and i will do my best to answer them.
my main area of expertise is the english premier league, but i try to keep up with as much euro football as possible.
im sure hunny would be glad to answer any questions u have also.

id be willin an glad to help anyone whos interested in joinin the fantasy league me an smokes have joined an runnin at the mo,,maybe next season we could have a few more willin members to join us ... i am not sayin i no everythin there is to no bout the game, but for a girl i can say without bein big headed i no a fair bit obviously i no slightly more on the scottish game/leagues, but i do take an avid interest in the english premier league...

yea it all depends on the contract agreed by the teams involved
Some also have the option of recalling a player if they get too many injuries.
If both teams involved play against each other in a match the loaned player is not allowed to play unless they are stupid and forget to add this clause in (which has been known)

It sounds like a "loan" would be like a temporary "free agent" signing in the states, although such a thing really doesn't exist in our sports. Does the loaning team get a player in return? Why would a team "loan" a player to another team in the first place?
ok they loan a player out to get 1st team football experience, so they would only loan a player to another team to help the progress of their own players.
usually its the younger players loaned out to a lower league team, but thts not always the case
a team may try to get a player on loan to help take some pressure off their team if they have a lot of injuries, or when a national team cup is being played like the african nations starting this month

i missed the 1st part of your question lol no they dont get a loan player in return, the team who have the loan player pays atleast half of their wages usually.
i forgot to add somtimes a team will get a player on loan before they actually try to buy them sort of like a trail period, but this doesnt happen with every transfer and at the end of the loan period the team either buys them or the player goes back

As hunny mentioned we will be having a fantasy football league next season which uses players from the english premier league, we have been running one this season between the 2 of us just so i could get a grasp of how it all works (this seasons my 1st).

thought id post up my teams progress in the scottish cup,, celtic beat stirling albion today 3-0 an go thru to next round of cup an we play either airdrie or kilmarnock(their game got called off due to weather...next round of cup for celtic is the 2nd of feb ,,will update then
