Wondering if anyone else is a fan of combat sports? Boxing, MMA, kickboxing etc.?
I'll definately be tuning in for UFC 103 tonight instead of the Mayweather vs. Marquez fight. If it was Mayweather/Pacman fighting then maybe I'd watch it, but Floyd has worn out his welcome with me, I can stand that dude anymore.
Any predictions? Mayweather over Marquez via Mayweather not being tired from cutting weight (the dude didn't even fucking try)
UFC 103 Franklin over Belfort via decission Cro Cop over Dos Santos via TKO Kampman vs Paul Daley, who the fuck is Paul Daley? I'm actually taking Daley on this one via the fact that Kampman has pillow hands and no chin. Kos over Trigg, I hope, for Franky's sake, that it's by anything but RNC. Griffin vs Franca, I have no idea, should be a good fight though.

Totally dude! Just finished watching the main event (Go Belfort!) and now watching the under cards. We missed them at 9 because Comcast made us order over the phone and wait an hour >.<
Dude - I hope Cro Cop is ok! D:
ETA: I can't WAIT for Lesnar's next fight - I HOPE THAT @$$ GETS KNOCKED OUT!

Fuck yeah, Lilly! I thought I was all alone on this one.
Belfort is a dangerous man, I'm glad he's back. I think Cro Cop's career is over. Kind of bummed about that.
And, I too would like to see Carwin throttle the fuck out of Lesnar. Carwins hands are like little trucks.

The event sucked, really. Anyone who follows MMA closely knew exactly what would happen in all the main card fights.
Hermes (as always) couldn't do anything to the stronger wrestler and lost.
Crocop choked again, he's old now and time for retirement.
The younger faster stronger koscheck overwhelmed the aging frank trigg.
Vitor destroyed Franklin.
It was a completely predictable event.

Bah, it's easy to say it was predictable after it's already over. I don't think there's one single mma fan out there that can predict which Vitor is going to show up on fight night.
CroCop quietly anounced his retirement a couple days ago. It's tough for me to watch the quasi-zombie Mirko that's been wandering around the UFC, getting his will broken by much lesser fighters. It's hardly been the story of his career though. This is the same guy that willingly exchanged with guys like Jerome Le Banner and Peter Aerts (won both of those too). The fucker had a smile on his face after the Le Banner fight. He just hasn't had any desire to fight for the last few years.
Kos and Frank. Younger, faster, stronger doesn't always make up for his lack of experience. Can you honestly say that you didn't think there was some minor possibility that Kos would do something stupid again, like lead with an overhand right and drop his left hand over and over? Or dominate the entire fight only to shoot for a double and land directly in a guilotine late in the 3rd?

Except kos is a multi champion undefeated college wrestler. While frank is just a college wrestler. Not only is kos younger faster and stronger, but he's just better. He trains striking with guys that are better than triggs striking trainers and his wrestling is 10 times better than franks ever was, even in his prime.

However, I don't care who kos trains with, his striking is still very basic and shows a TON of holes. He drops his hands, leads with his head, bends at the waist and eventually ducks right into an uppercut ala Paulo Thiago. Like I said, he's inexperienced and that's a huge factor in mma, where anything can and does happen. I also think he fights with emotion and gets excited at times (young/inexperienced) and that only causes more mistakes. That's all I was really getting at...I guess.
Anyway, you want to see Belfort challenge Silva @ 185? I know I do. Silva's only got a few fights left and I don't want them to be wasted. Andersons got a huge advantage and will most likely win, but Vitor is dangerous and will at least make it a fight, unlike most all of Andersons UFC fights thus far.

As for predictability? I was with a house full of guys from the Jiu Jitsu & Thai Boxing gym who thought that CroCop was going to knock the guy out. Just saying :P

i used to fight MMA and im going to start again soon hopefully i must say some of the fights surprised me. i also want to see lesnar get knocked the fuck out because he got a title fight way early on that he didnt deserve, id like to see kimbo slice and brock lesnar if you guys havent been following the ultimate fighter kimbo is no longer fat but he has become a fucking tree picture chieck congo on massive amounts of steroids, havnt seen his improved fighting yet but i think he would destroy lesnar, mainly because lesnar blows his load in the first round and if he doesnt knock you out in the first chances are hes gonna lose i almost pissed myself when he beat mir in their second fight in the second round
btw mirko has a total glass jaw as well as arlovski and jardine
