I love Fedor. He throws those same crazy looping punches everytime and somehow they always fucking land. They go against everything I learned in muay thai.

Straight down the pipe! Straight down the pipe if you want to land it! Yet Fedor always throws these monster haymakers and the kicker is everyone knows he's going to throw that haymaker, he does it every fucking time. Good stuff.

Yes dude, totally agree. I felt very afraid for Rogers the entire time he was in there, even with Fedor bleeding and getting GnP'd for a second. I was fully aware of the emenent danger, lurking at all times, of Rogers getting zulu'd or getting one of those branches snapped in half.

Also, thought I'd mention in case anyone else watched this fight and noticed this, but Fedor had the worst translator I've ever fucking seen, it was hilarious.

Yeah she needs to be fired. She couldn't understand either side of it. Fedor was repeating himself and so was the commentator. All the while she was stumbling for words. I was little too drunk to care at that point though.

the problem with straight down the pipe is that it just takes a little head movement from the person getting punched to avoid it.
when you aim directly at a moving target, there is a good chance you wont hit it. if you give the moving target the appropriate lead and aim at where it will be before it gets there, much better the chances of a direct hit.
the good fighter will keep both strikes in his arsenal, as unpredictability is a huge advantage in a fight.

Any boxing instructor or muay thai teacher or otherwise will tell you straight down the pipe is the only way to go, until you land a couple good ones, then hook. Reason being is, unless you've been formally trained in striking, you don't move in angles. You instinctively back away. It's a reflex, not a choice, the fastest way to make distance is straight back.

If you throw a hook and they move back 4 or 5 inches. You've already missed target. Even side to side, there's a small area of possible impact with a hook because of the way it moves. It's the easiest punch on Earth to avoid.

If you move back from straight right or jab, guess what, it's still coming, it's still connecting, you're still getting hit.

I don't disagree it takes both. But no instructor or anyone who fights for that matter, will ever tell you to throw anything but straight punches if your oponent isn't already hurt. Fedor, he never jabs. Never. His first punch in a fight will be a monster bar room haymaker. That's the only hole in his game.

well alot of fedors fights that ive seen when he and his opponent round off at the same time the opponent tends to open themselves up for a huge hook from fedor and after that first huuge hook he lands theyre no longer the same fighter

Dennis Kang over Bisping via whatever he wants (depending on which Kang shows up)
Vera vs Couture.
If Vera can keep it standing he can win this. On the ground with Couture is a long a night for Vera. I still think Vera takes this.
