| Re: What does ganja do to you?
dopamine, it all comes down to that. Recently researches have determined that dopamine has more to do with desire than reward, and in the past it was pretty much called the "reward" neurotransmitter.
keeping that in mind, dopamine is released (and thc mimics it) when you smoke pot. Dopamine is responsible from everything from concentration, comfort, and interest to anxiety and paranoia. Meth releases tons of dopamine, hence the paranoid speed freak. THC does pretty much the same but on a much chiller level, plus being a little slow can make a lot of people paranoid.
i used to get paranoid all the time when i smoked, and at the time i was kinda a paranoid guy. I eased up alot and with it came a much less paranoid high. So really, its what your brains used to doing. Your brain gets conditioned, the more you use one track of neurons the more it wants to be used (e.g. the paranoia section of neurons). So even if you get paranoid while stoned, if you can avoid it for long enough you'll eventually dig yourself out of it...unless of course your seriously mentally ill
