like i said on another post i do not agree with all your statements but i like your prose. If you have no dreams of the future then you have no aspirations.

Well some of us have to dream of the future to get through school.
And I love dreaming of the future and have hopes.

Ahhh, just had a discussion w/the spouse last night similar to this. He insisted that the past is very important because who we are now is a result of what we've gone through up until this point. I disagreed and said it is not important because we can't change it, so why get hung up on it? He rolled his eyes.

I said something like, "OK then, right now go back to the past and change whatever you didn't like." He couldn't. I said, "Now go into the future and make it what you want it to be." He couldn't. I told him, "Live this moment, right now." He could.

He rolled his eyes again and sighed.

If you keep doing something the same old way expecting a different result, your "present" is stuck in the "past" and there is no "future". Believe me, I know this but sadly knowing it and doing something about it are two different things. Gotta break that habit!

the past is only as important as the lessons it teaches us. it helps us to make decisions faster and more efficient because of the experience we gain.

the future is only as good as the decision we make in the present moment.

but the present, that is the timeframe we have the most control of
