Stoner Buck$$: 1,439.98 | I am a Christian I'm not entirely sure about which thread to put this in, general discussion or religion, so I'm gonna post it here and if the mods think it belongs elsewhere then hopefully they'll put it where it belongs.
Before you go and think I'm copying and pasting this, I'm not, I'm actually writing this as a little "vent" for the current season.
I am a Christian: I say "Merry Christmas!" Not Happy Holidays, not Season Greetings, or any other similar phrase. Jesus is the reason we celebrate the season and I want people to REMEMBER that.
I am a Christian: I may curse sometimes, no one is perfect, however you will not catch me saying "Jesus Christ" or "G**D*mn it" or any other curse that directly involves the name of God and Jesus. Its human nature to sin and human nature to swear once in a while, however using His name in these curses is a slap in the face to Him.
I am a Christian: I'm not offended if someone names a teddy bear "Jesus" I'm happy that person knows who He is, I'm not offended if someone insults my faith, I believe what I believe, I wont shout in the streets "KILL THEM" when someone insults Jesus. I'll ask the person nicely not to insult Him in front of me, but I will not worry about what OTHER people do.
I am a Christian: I respect others, I treat people as I want to be treated, that is the golden rule and God himself set that rule up. I hold doors open for people (not just women, everyone) I'll help someone out of the snowbank if I pass by and they're stuck, I'll offer someone a ride if they're stranded on the side of the road, I'll treat people like human beings, no matter what type of ailment they may suffer from, we're all God's children and yes we may be diverse, but if we can learn to respect one another, we could live better lives.
I am a Christian: My favorite Christmas songs glorify the birth of Jesus. My "Joy To the World" does not start out "Jermiah had a bullfrog" It starts out "Joy to the world the LORD has COME"
I am a Christian: I do my best to follow God's word, it may not be what I WANT to do, but if I want to go to Heaven some day and sing his praises with the angels on high, I need to follow his will.
I am a Christian: I pray before my meals because he provided them. Without God, there would be no food, without food we would not survive. I pray that he blesses the food that makes my body strong, I pray that he watches over my family and friends and does wonders in their lives, I pray that he puts his hand upon the leaders of the world and guides them to do right, I pray that he heals the world, even though I know we're given free will and he will not make the world better in a snap just because I asked, but because I asked, he knows I care.
I am a Christian: I care for people even if they hurt me, even if they look down on me, even if they don't care for me. I'll care for someone because I am supposed to love my neighbor and my enemies. I may not have to Like my enemy, but I'll care for them and love them because that is what He has told us to do.
I am a Christian: I respect and listen to my parents, growing up we all rebel against our parents, its human nature, however, I try my best to obey my parents requests, even though I'm an adult now and I can make my own decisions, I must still obey.
I am a Christian: I cry at shows like Extreme Home Makeover and other shows that help out people in need, not because of the stories of their lives, but because someone has taken the time out to say "Hey, these people need help, lets spare no expenses and help them" I yearn to reach out and help them any way I can.
I am a Christian: I believe I do God's work when I give massages. I may possess the skill for massage, but HE does the healing, HE works through me. No I'm not trying to be egoistical and say "God works through me, I'm special." Thats not the case, the fact of the matter is, I could never heal someone alone, HE heals through me. Before each massage, I say a prayer asking God to move through me and help me find the areas in need of the most attention. I accept compliments from people who tell me I'm good at Massage, however I make it a point to remind myself that God's the Massage Therapist, I'm just the hands.
I am a Christian: I try my best to spread the word of God, now days no one wants to listen about God, no one wants to believe in him anymore, the world is spiraling downwards quickly and I truly believe that I may be alive for Jesus' second coming. I know that day will be a glorious day for Christians world wide, but I also know there is suffering and trials and tribulations to come during the last years on earth. I want people to know, God cares about us, he doesn't WANT to see us suffer, but for our suffering we will be rewarded in heaven. Our lives here on earth are short, but I can not wait to spend a thousand lifetimes with my Father in Heaven.
I am a Christian: I know the way to Heaven is not by good deeds on earth, good deeds are wonderful and they help people, but good deeds alone are not enough to get to Heaven, I know I must accept and believe with my whole heart that Jesus died on the cross for my sins, you say "Pfft, one man died for the entire world? Impossible!" I say "With God, NOTHING is impossible." If He can flood the world, raise the dead, cause the lame to walk, the blind to see, the deaf to hear, if He could withstand hours and hours and hours of beatings and punishment so severe that He was unrecognizeable on the cross, yet still not die until he accept the sins of the world, why cant I simply believe in Him, and allow him into my heart to live forever more?
I am a Christian: And I intend to remind you again and again, God is in control, He will NEVER give you more than you can handle, EVER. When you think your life has gone down the tubes, when you think you have nothing to live for anymore, when you feel that the world is about to crush you, look to God, ask him for help, ask him for guidance and he will deliver. He may not answer prayers the way people WANT him to, but he does answer prayers, he does give us what we NEED, when we need it.
I am a Christian: I wrote this not for my benefit, but for those who may read it. I am a vessel of God and I must help Him rescue those who are drowning in the sea of doubt.
I am a Christian: I KNOW my God loves me, how do I know? John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, he gave his only begotten son, whosoever shall believe in him, shall not perish (ever) but have everlasting life." if thats not all there in black and white, ask me to explain it and I will. God loves ALL of us, not some, not a chosen few, ALL of us. It doesn't matter how horrible your sins in the past may be, God WILL forgive you if you ask him and you give your whole heart to him. God is in control, so sit back and allow him to be your pilot.
Merry Christmas everyone

You have to ask yourself this question: "What would my church think of my smoking weed and posting in a stoner forum?" Cuz my church thought I was supporting terrorism, and doing the devils work. Not that they knew I posted in a stoner forum, but they knew my neighbor, so they knew I smoked weed.
I was sort of quietly blacklisted after a couple of things happened. First I had invited a couple of Mormon kids in for a bible study. My church members were appalled!!! A meeting of the elders of the church were convened and they gave us a stern lecture about this demonic cult of mormonism.
I had the gall to say that I believed there were many paths to God, and that I believed he spoke to us all in a form we could work with. I didn't know I was supposed to sit there in utter terror and awe of a meeting of the Elders lol I thought I could respectfully state my beliefs.
Apparently I was wrong. Then they found out we have alternative spiritual beliefs as they called it (our house is haunted) but I don't want to get in to all of that, but the church said we had demons. Definitely not so. Then they informed us that there was a problem with our membership in the church as I had not tithed, even tho I gave a nice donation every Sunday.
I bid them farewell at that point and continued my spiritual search. I have just seen too many incredible things in my life to limit myself to thinking any one way is the only way to God, as we humans are incredible creatures, and we must have been created for something great, no matter how far off track we are right now.
Still searchin today..... |

There are many paths to God yes, but only one to Heaven. Your church sounds like they're afraid to welcome the world.
From what I see, what you do away from church is your business, if your church has a problem with you smoking up, thats THEIR problem, its between you and God.
Too many churches now days think that they're serving a higher purpose and try to limit who they want to come to their church and who they think would be "beautiful" for the church, they dont seem to concern themselves with the actual reaching EVERYONE attitude that Jesus himself had.
As for Tithing, once again thats between you and God, the church has no right to deny membership because you decided not to tithe.
Churches forget one thing, they're there to guide you in your spiritual quest, not drag you through it, they're there to provide a venue of fellowship with like believers as well. Churches who judge and discriminate are not doing God's work. Only GOD can judge us.

Stoner Buck$$: 1.36 | Re: I am a Christian i tried every christian bible based church allover the place from dallas tx, to half moon bay ,ca and i was surrounded by holyier than I people who wouldn,t let me play drums in their churches cuase of my use of medical-marijuana.and my checkered bkground.i was told by the elders that i haven,t given up drugs and there would have to be at least a ten yr history without any drugs .LOL these same people would go out to parties and drink booze til they were loaded or close to it .that really bugs me when people separate alcohol from drugs ,gimme a break booze is the #1 drug in this country !So anyway i finally gave up on all the different churches and followed what Jesus Christ said that church is where two people pray in the name of Christ . end of story. jimbones |

My pastor at my current church invites people once a year to give up their vices and throw them at the altar of our church, they then collect these items and throw them away. My pastor believes in welcoming anyone and everyone to our church, I enjoy my church because I FEEL like a Christian there, I'm not judged, I'm not looked down upon, I'm treated equal. My pastor even once used me as an example to the church (I used to dye my hair wild colors all the time) one sermon he was trying to make a point, and since I usually sit up front to see the interpreters, he pointed me out by saying "I love everyone in this church, even if they have an orange mohawk.) I was happy to know that I was loved.
