MULTI TIER TRANSPLANTING

This is a method I use when I transplant and I get a pretty good yeild from it...The BOG who's a legendary grower and breeder was a great proponent of it as well...I call my style of transplant "Extreme BOG" as my tiers are a little higher...

The first two pictures I show you are from my current JACK47 grow...The first one is JACK47 51st day veg(out of 57)...The second picture is JACK47 54th day flowered...These pictures are of the same root ball...

The final two pictures are Opium and GWS...I figured I'd throw these in so you have a better idea of what I'm talking about...

PICS-

JACK47 51 days vegged
JACK47 54 days flowered
OPIUM 28 days flowered
GWS 23 days flowered

Re: MULTI TIER TRANSPLANTING

I had seen something similar to this before. What are the most notable benefits of this method of transplant? Obviously the roots love it, what does this do for your plant, bud, yield etc.? It seems rather involved, it is very different from starting in a very large pot?

Excellent questions Osprey...When I started transplanting with this style it was about giving the roots more RTG(room to grow)...There is nothing like taking a root bound plant and transplanting it with this style to a pot twice as large...I'm talking "Born Free" and "Little Shop Of Horrors",lol...You'll never get the same effect from using one large pot unless you're growing small plants or have a pot that are large enough to handle every aspect of growth from germ to term which I can't imagine indoors...
I talked to the breeder of CH9 seeds about this tier transplant method and he seemed to think it gave the roots more oxygen as well...
It's not to involved at all and if you need any transplanting tips or advice, just give a shout man...

Re: MULTI TIER TRANSPLANTING

I've actually never used transplanting as a growing technique. Hence the questions I guess. I've had really good luck with many different sizes of container, only recently have I root bound a plant. The strange bit is the fact that it was one out of six only. I guess I'm not making giant trees, so no worries.

DTRave420,

You seem to know a lot about transplanting. Could you take a look at this thread I have posted and impart any knowledge that you might have.

Sorry man...Just saw this and read your thread...I'm not sure of the answer but I find that keeping root mass together seems to make transplant stress minimal...This is why I like to water the day before I transplant...

If you're still around, sure would like to hear how it went for you...

So is it soil in the pots you're transplanting into?

Here's a transplant I did yesterday(10/3)...It's L.A Woman(fem) and MK Ultra(fem). They were transplanted from 2 gallon pots to 5 gallon pots as I'll be flippin' em very soon...

The base of my flowering mix is Pro-Mix which is a soiless medium...My flowering mix consists of the following per gallon...

3 parts Pro-Mix
1 part perlite
1 part earthworm castings
1 heaping TBS (fine) dolomite lime
1 TBS FoxFarm Peace Of Mind 5-5-5
1 tsp bone meal
1 tsp bat guano
1 tsp seabird guano
(per gallon)

L.A Woman(fem)+MK Ultra(fem) transplanted from 2 gallons to 5 gallons,50 days veg...
