I have a limited amount of height in my growspace, they are 4" - 5" tall now, 5 weeks old tomorrow, I was trying to leave it a little longer but I know they will double + in height over the 8 week flowering period, I don't want them to reach more than about 18" tall max, that would be about 18" from the light, what do you think?

if you harvest now you just wasted all the time you have put into them. at least 7 weeks is what you want to get in an emergency. before then its all pointless. there is not going to be nearly as much thc as you would have had and the size of the buds are gonna be half what they could have been.

Its an odd plant to over double in size in stretch.

I grow in a small space also. You might try letting them go until you have maybe a 30-40% stretch planned.

What kind of light do you have? Can you let them get any closer than 18"? I have 400W HPS and they can get maybe 10"-12" at max flower, provided you have some air movement.

One other thing, you can let them flower until max height then hitem with KoolBloom fert. it stops stretch.

Are you able to tip the plants at all to get them bushy?

I used to have a height of 175 cm in total and I tip the plants once at their 5th true set of leaves, this got the plants to about 160cm and the light far enough away not to let them burn.
