I also use the soil.

I also use soil sometimes for mother plants and occasionally ill use it when ive no room in the systems.

I DO NOT have great luck growing in soil. . . Most of the time. EVER.

I grow both in soil and hydroponically. How did you determine how much to water the plants in soil. That seems to be one area I have been unable to narrow down to the correct amount?

The only bad thing about weed is when it runs out.

Some folks do the "pot lift" where you have a pot of dry soil next to your grow and you lift it for comparison. Some people use a "moisture meter". I, personally, "wing it" and have had no problems. I think if you keep an eye on the plant, it will tell you what is going on.

Soil for me I tried hydro with my last grow and it was more stress than what it was worth. My plants grew faster but yield and quality lacked. Probably my fault but that is why I stick to soil.

Old hippie farmers do it in the dirt baby! Count me in this lot.

Soil here as well, and yes I DO use a moisture meter. I tend to drown them without one

second time doin it in the soil
