I hope this is the right place to ask this question, and I apologize for being a pain in your ass if it is in the wrong place.
Last year a friend of ours had a good crop, and we got a plant from it... now I still have the garbage bag full of shake and some moldy buds. I am out of pot, and have been diving into the garbage bag to roll some joints. Can the moldy shake fuck with me? Does anybody else have experience with this? I just want to know what happens when you smoke moldy shake/shyte?

i'm not 100 % sure but once and awhile in think i smell mold on bud and shyt when she smokes it she get littie messd in the chest but she also has bad allergies to mold rag weed etc it worth looking more into that hope it help you good luck

i had a friend who had a harvest go bad cos he trusted an idiot to dry his bud out while he was away.
it was kept in a ziplock bag and went moldy, but he still smoked it didnt do him any harm

my advice to you young lady would be to make hash with anything that you may think has mould in ...ice extraction or butane extraction or even if your feeling a little cheeky some iso hash

never ..never ever smoke mouldy buds ...ever ...if you value your lungs dont do it ...

what i would do is get a lot of ice ,smash it up a little pop it in a big jar with the weed ..pop it in a fridge for half an hour ...then shake or stir it up for a good 20 minutes then pop it back in the fridge to settle for 30 mins ...take out of fridge remove the weed (pop it in a bag and freeze it ,you can always get more trichs from it later ) put jar back in fridge over night to let trichomes settle ..in morning drain off the water leaving an inch or so in the jar try not to disturb the trichs in the water (you should see a layer of them ) then stir it up and pour through a coffee filter ...scrape up trichs from filter and place on a piece of cardbord to dry for a few days then press it together and there you go hash from trash ..simple cheap and very effective ...there are more complex ways and means but this costs very little to do and always gives a return ..plus any mould will float to the surface of the water

alternatively try a water cure for mouldy buds

place affected buds in a jar of water ...leave for a week ,changing the water daily ...after a week remove buds from water and dry ..they should be slightly sweeter tasting with no chlorophyl taste and most importantly no mould ...hope this helps

Check out this video for the next time you need a solution like that. This is a neighbor of mine by-the-way. I am going to use a 20 gallon garbage can instead and then using a small pond pump run it through 100, 55, 43 and 25 micron screens so I can collect the various grades of hash.

This is a great way to use up those leaves!

I second the notion of butane hash. I've done that exact thing with moldy herb before. I noticed no unfamiliar taste or odor when smoked, very easy too.

Its important to know some mold will still be presant if bubble is made.Some particals arent water soluable therefore are presant in the hash.
If you press it and place in the freezer overnight the mold shall rise to the surface and can be wiped off with a cloth.

So, just to butt in here a bit. There is really only one circumstance under which smoking moldy buds 'might' be a problem. That would be if you are a sufferer of extrinsic allergic alveolits, aka "EAA". This chronic condition has many common forms: compost lung, humidifier lung, peat moss worker's lung, and on and on. If you are one of these hypersensitive individuals, then you most likely would be unable to smoke, anything, becuase of this chronic hypersensitivity.

As for the moldy buds, I can assure you that the mold in question is our old buddy Botrytis cinerea...grey mold. This mold's spores are in the air we breath, wherever there are plants. We have evolved with this mold, and it is relatively harmless, whether consumed, inhaled or smoked.



Now I'll just bet than every person who has ever grown herb has seen this nasty stuff.

Like I said, it is essentially harmless, but it does impart a pungent unpleasant odor to herb, just like it does for strawberries that have been in the fridge too long.

While smoking mold isnt the norm,it is presant on some peoples weed without them even noticing.
Ive also read smoking mold can be harmfull to your lungs.

my plant sick i grow it under one black light and reacently mved it inside it did well for a while but forgot to water it for awhile it is still alive but what can i do to revive it
