43 days into flower almost 2 weeks to go noticed part of Cola turn brown and dying on into itsef i opened it a little its bud rot. so what do you do? harvest the plant now top it or just clip off the affected parts of the cola.

Any idea i only noticed this on 1 of my 6 they are kinda big about 5mo and it is my first grow.


of course i will take some pics after i deal with the Carnage and wash my hands not to spread spores.

Humidity is lame 60-83 according to meter but cuircut cannot handle more load to run Dehumidifier

Another Cola Infected so 2 out of 6... I remember i have a bottle of Serenade Garden Disease Control around does that stuff work on bud rot ?


it says something about Gray Mold is that what bud rot is?

Looking at your pics I can't see any bud rot. They just look like they're very ripe. It looks like they're past nornal harvest point. STill harvestable, they're going to be a real couchlock high.

smoke it and see what happens

the trichomes are a milky color not yet amber but those buds are rotting.. you can see fuzzy webs when i bend the buds over.

I agree with ya man that is bud rot..is it still only on one plant? I assume you know this, but DONT smoke it man..lol

So far i have detected this on 3 out of 6 plants

i went Sears and got the biggest Dehumidifier that they had for $299 comes with a Wireless Handheld Status Indicator tells me the Temp and humidity if its full kinda cool. so far Humidity has gone from 81 to 50 lets see if can get it dow to 40s or even better 35. i have also decided to spray with Serenade it says controls Grey Mold and i believe thats what bud rot is.

Fingers crossed i have invested alot of time and have learned alot would like to see some yield.

sounds like your on the right track as far as getn it contained...that dehumidifer is a smart investment..it will ensure you dont have this issue again...cannabis with mold on it isnt safe to consume not matter how you do it not even vape or baking is safe...sorry to hear about the whole stuation..good luck man!

Lots of strains are prone to bud rot, lots of strains are not. Generally, the strains with the big 'donkey dick' colas are going to show bud rot or mold 1st. Thats not always true, as some strains resist mold very well. Breeders try to breed strains that are not mold prone, but even strains that are resistant, can mold with high humidity and low air movement.

We have a strain {sweetooth#3 based} that will mold the last three weeks in bloom. To combat this, we add more air movement {another oscillating fan} and a dehumidifier for the final three weeks to keep the RH below 50%. Remember that a dehuey puts off heat, so you have to take that into account.
Generally with bud rot, if you catch it soon enough, you can cut out the affected sections without tossing the entire cola.

TY for the input. 3 of 6 have noticed rot on main tops i cut them off and cut the bad parts out and they are drying, then i decided to harvest 2 of those 3 they look done enough at 7 weeks, with the dehumi will monitor the remaining 4.

I have 2 sensor for humidity 1 on my hood and 1 at pot level the hood says RH is %39 and pot says 50-60 depending on time of day.
