Stoner Buck$$: 249.68 | HELP!!! Reservoir ran out of water
Hello all, My reservoir ran out of water for a few hours and the roots got a little dry and the plants got a little droppy. I added water ASAP and I thought they were springing up but they are not... none of the leaves or part of the plant got dried out but they are still droppy and hanging... I left the light off for awhile to give them time to hydrate...but still droppy.. anyone got any ideas on what's up or how to get them perky again??? | |

If the only thing you did was not give them water for a few hours, then giving them water will fix the problem. You may just need to wait a little longer.

This isnt sounding good. Are you running an aero system? With roots just hanging in the air it wouldnt take long to dry up and die. Sounds like thats happened.
I wouldnt give up on em, but even if they survive and start to grow new leaves, it will set them WAY back in both time and health.
In our ebb flo system, we have removed plants with a big root ball hanging free from the pots for picture taking purposes, and found that too long out of water will dry the roots, and create a stutter in their growth. Never had the whole root system dry and die tho. Hope you didnt have a lot of time invested in them. Good luck

Ya... I'm not feeling good about this!!!
I was thinking the same thing... roots dried up and now have no way to get hydrated.
I haven't given up yet!!!
I had some time into them... a few weeks into flower and growing like an SOB.... there is 2 of them and they were both almost 4 feet ( so they need a lot of water) so it sucks...
I have nothing to put in there place so that kinda sucks... I took clones before they went to flower but they are no where even ready to veg nevermind flower.
I think I am basically waiting for new roots to sprout and get so hydration... which comes first...new roots or them drying up....time will tell.
would you leave the light out for awhile to let them stay cool and try to spray them as often as possible
I WISH I knew of a place that sells clones... I found a place online and took the chance many years ago and all went well but the older I get ... more cautious I get.... and I don't know if I want to take the chance.

If they make it, they will basically be starting over, so i'd treat them like seedlings or young plants. Yes, use the light, but maybe back off a bit until new leaves actually start to grow. I'd keep the nutes at lower levels too. Maybe 500 to 700 ppm for awhile.
I bet the old roots will also need to be removed before rotting. Man...that sucks! I can feel the hurt.

Best thing to do is once youve got water in lights on back to normal, they would have picked up,imm.
Keep the light on when this happens or they will die.
Ive had mine go without for a day a half, they fainted, but within the hour they were back up,5+ foot plants too,in hydro.
All the best.

Well if those roots have all died, they will be turning brown and nasty real soon. A few more days after that, and they will turn to slime. You cant let the gunk stay in there, but you also dont want to cut/tear off any new roots that might be starting to grow. If you can remove each plant from the system so as to get at the roots, you should be able to see any new roots growing. The old stuff will begin to decay, and proly you can just pull it off. New roots should be crisp and white. Hoping for the best.

if ur roots are dead what ur gonna want to do is get a plastic container cut some holes for air flow and spray the container so its humid inside because at this point the plants will take the water through the leaves because water goes from a high concentration to a low concentration the plant has a lower concentration
