| Don't forget the pound pets......... I always had pedigreed dogs but a couple of animals presented themselves to me in the last 10 years that tore at my heart strings. Sometime I will post the story of Katie, sad story with a great ending. But for today it is Elizabeth. She was part of group of dogs being adopted out at the local pet store one day. I was there to get dog food for the 2 I already owned. Much like everyone I was drawn to the puppies.
There she was, the last of her litter, looking so lonely.......I asked a few questions about her only to learn that she wasn't house broken. I felt so bad as she was almost a year old. I knew that she would suffer in the wrong hands as that is a hard age to housebreak. I truthfully flipped a coin and she won.
I know that face is really cute, but she peed everywhere whenever she wanted. What a nightmare. I am have used clicker training for all my dogs but this one seemed resistant. Frustration would have been a good description of my mood. |
