I think cats (or most pets) respond to names that end with an ee sound.

I couldn't think of a name for my kitty, so I was saying out loud.."What should your name be?...name be....Nambi. I wanted something cute and ended with an ee sound, and Nambi it is.

LOL! My family used to feed this stray cat for a couple years & we called him 'shitty kitty' ( he was super cute and nice, but we already had 2 cats and didn't want anymore, otherwise we would have just adopted him ).

My roommate and I have two cats right now, their names are Captain Jean Luc Picard ( we just call him Jean Luc though ) AND MollyMorphine ( We call her MoMo) LOL.

They just had two kittens & we've named them Petey & Theodore ( Teddy for short )
