I am bored so I figured I would share some pics of my puppies
the first two are of my australian cattle dog/golden retriver mix waffles. she is 6 months old.
the third one is of my yorkshire terrier/bichion frise mix Junior celebrating my daughter's second birthday. he is 3 years old, but 2 in this pic
the fourth is the "twins" junior and my other yorkie/bichion mix Mo Mo (short for mozart) they are from the same litter so he is also 3 years old.
the last is mo mo needing a haircut |

I only have 3. no they don't sleep on the bed. the white one sleeps in a crate because she chews everything. the last time I trusted her and let her sleep out of the crate she chewed a lamp cord(that was plugged in at the time!!!) I am glad she was ok! | |

Crate training is the best way to make sure that your pet is safe while you are gone. They may seem upset about being locked away but after awhile they come to think of it as their own personal space to get a way.
Maybe get some more chew toys that and make them available so the other stuff is not an option. Usually that is something that your dogs will just grow out of. | |

You are right on target, Bones. We've crate trained two dogs and it was wonderful. Both dogs eventually saw the crate as their haven. We would leave the door open and they would just go in a lay down. They loved it.
Substituting items you want the dog to chew for things they can't will also work. Again this comes from past experience. It took a little while but eventually, with presistance on the master's part, the dog will learn the difference.

If I had a yard I would probably have more dogs, but they are a lot of responsibility. My dog doesn't know how to share with any other animal, so I have to keep her on leash when I go to the park. Otherwise, she steals all the tennis balls from everyone. | |

yes she does love her crate. she gives a little fight about going in there when she knows I am leaving because she goes most places with me, but at bettime she goes right in.
she has plenty of stuff to chew and she was doing really well with only chewing what was hers, and that is when she chewed the lamp cord so I started crateing her again. she's a wild one but she is still just a pup and she has been calming down and getting ALOT better as she gets older. she listens really really well, she just likes to chew and needs alot of exercise.
she is the only one that dosn't run away from me out of the fence, even when she is trying to chase a cat or something. If I call her she comes 99% of the time. the other 1% I have to call her a few more times lol, or she gets out and runs straight for the car and if the car door is open and she gets in, it takes everything I have to drag her out. | |
