What's the strangest pet you've ever had? Last year when I was living in Ohio, I found this little bugger crawling across my carpet:


That was the best picture I had of him. I named him Eugene the Killing Machine and he beat the shit out of crickets. He was a "house centipede". Here's a better pic of what they look like:


I had always wanted a house centipede. So I was pretty psyched when I saw it. He's been dead a long time though. And Ohio sucks.

I had two Emperor Scorpions. That's not too weird but how I got them is a bit strange. I was drinkin' on a Saturday mornin'. . . as I like to and there was a knock at my door. It was a nice looking blonde lady with an aquarium in her hands. I asked if I could help her and she says "you want two scorpions?" Half lit a the time I figure why not. . . So I then had to get on the web and figure out what they needed. . . Cool little critters.

I've owned a few species of theraphosids (aka tarantulas): Theraphosa blondi, Avicularia purpurea, Poecilotheria regalis, Poecilotheria metallica, and Haplopelma lividum.

Very neat little guys. Well, the blondi had an 11.3 inch leg-span. He was the big guy. Friggin' garbage disposal I tell you. The purpureas are very friendly and will let you handle them. Anything Haplopelma is going to be fiesty and defensive. I let him do his own thing in his cage and he was a happy camper. As for the Poecilotheria's, I never handled them. Got good money for the female P. metallica though. Very beautiful genus and I highly recommend them for the more experienced keepers out there.

Snakes is about the only thing i can think of that was a weird pet. as many people here dont like em so not many here have them for pets

my wierdest pet ive ever had was a boa, then it ate my mom's lil lap dog an we had 2 get rid of it...well actually my mom had my lil brother step on its head

I have four weimaraners and while they aren't really weird (they may act weird around a tennis ball) they don't scare the hell out of me like scorpions or spiders. You people are crazy. Albeit in a good way.

I had a pet Camen Alligator when I was little ^.^ He was cooooool! He lived in the kitchen and watched us eat - was kinda weird. He died when he was about 4 ft long though.
