ok i have three plants growing outside.

i was wondering whats the best way to keep animals from killing my plants. i heard that putting human hair all around will keep animals out. is that true? is there a better way?

i have a pond near my plants. is that water ok to use on my plants? the pond is about 20 feet around.

i planted them in april about 6 inches tall when should i harvest them. what do i look for to tell when the plants are ready.

to increase the light my plants. does aluminum foil placed on the ground work. what if i put a mirror to reflect the sun?

ok so i forgot the questions OH! ok the water should be ok, just check the ph. some say its good to use water that fish swim in cuz of the fish crap. The light thing, i dunno about that. would probably just attract popo copters flying around looking for grow sites. Human hair does work. It keeps deer away. You could also go get some fox piss from a hunting store to get rid of things like squirrels and rats. Anything else use a bb gun. Unless its someones pet.......then get the hell out of there! and um, you harvest after they bud.......duh!

Not to be a dick, but:
To grow successfully, you should know what you are doing. Read some growing guides for outdoor cultivation.
Buy a book online or at Border's or something.
Dude, are you really going to spread aluminum foil on the ground near your outdoor plants? Plan ahead for better light next time.
I've made just about every mistake you can, so I feel your pain.

There are free basic ones online.

Human hair and urine will keep away animals, a circle of crushed egg shells around each plant will stop slugs and snails attacking them.

They wont be ready to harvest until later this year.

As for your idea of putting foil or mirrors down to reflect sunlight, come here so I can beat some common sense into you, this will achieve nothing, aslong as they are not under a canopy of trees or bushes then the light will be enough, nothing can beat sunlight for plants.
