Anyhow, as for the original post, I don't want to get into my "history" and blah, blah, blah... But it's not always as cut and dry as you may think. "Nobody ever says I want to be a junkie when I grow up." lol

Sometimes people are predispositioned for whatever reason. Maybe you've known someone that always had to outdo themselves? A thrill seeker? It's not something that can easily be explained to those that don't understand.

Thanks for everyone's input. I suppose I was stupid enough to base my theory on the media's protrayal and what I've seen from the "thrill seeker" friends of mine. Which, sadly, is very hypocritical of me because I've always told myself to base theories on personal experiences and not stories. So, I'm sorry if I offended anybody who enjoys what I referred to as "chemical drugs", I'm just going to stay at my original stand-point and let other people do that. I'll stay with my loving wife, Mrs Mary Jane Ganja.

No offense taken! I know I have an addictive personality and that is why it scares me more, or be more concerned about truly addictive drugs. Like Opiates, it sometimes doesn't take long to get dependent on them, then addicted. Weed, I can take it or leave it, I choose to take it tho!! lol At least now in my life I truly do have a choice, one day all 50 states will have medical MJ as a choice for more people!

Some people can do everything and still live normal lives, some people (like me) can't. But even then, what's wrong with doing it when on holiday or on a weekend or something? I've never done any chemicals and don't plan on btw

Using drugs or weed is a partof the human experience and a huge part of growing up. It seperates the sheep from the wolves, the attackers from the accused, the conservatives from the liberals.
Marijuana, while scientifically considered a chemical, is still harmful to the lungs, throat, and memory cells. However, it is not physically addictive to most people, and thus we justifyit as being a "safe" drug. Key word here is drug.
Chemical drugs can be addictive, but the underlying reason for doing them remains the same: PEOPLE WANT TO GET HIGH. Clear and simple. It's why we smoke, drink, snort and shoot. It's why Eve ate the forbidden fruit and why Isaiah got busted for meth. (Not the Bible Isaiah, a buddy of mine.)

Since this has ended up focusing more on addiction than this and that chemical, thought I would add some food for thought...people can be addicted to ANYTHING!! For some it is sex, some it is security, money, gambling,etc... some people are even addicted to work as it gives them external evidence of their worth, feeds their ego, but can also be an excuse for avoiding intimacy with loved ones..but is often looked upon as a purposeful choice in life, not an addiction that keeps them from having a full, balanced life. Anything where you say "no, I'm not doin' it this time" and end up in the same place you swore you wouldn't be in again is an addiction...balance in life is the key, but often hard to maintain...

I Enjoy Alot Of Drugs Weed' Shrooms' Lsd' Ice' Crystal Meth' Mdma' And Alot More Without Having To Do Them Excessively Sometimes I Do On The Weekends Have A Big Binge And Then Not Touch Anything But Weed For Weeks It All Depends On The Individual I Have An Addictive Personalty And Sometimes I Just Want To Keep Eating Drugs But I Don't Because Im Strong Minded Not To Sound Up Myself But You Just Have To Say To Yourself No More And For People Who Can't Do That There Ones Who Become Junkies And If You Can't Tell Yourself No Then You Shouldn't Be Doing Drugs Simple As that Sorry To Sound Rude And Up Myself But Thats Just The Way I See It

Every drug is a chemical. Alcohol and tobacco kill more people every year than all illegal chemical drugs (cocaine, amphetamine, heroin, etc) combined. There is less danger in using cocaine that driving a car. Your thread is dumb.

Oddly most "chemical" drugs (and by that I presume you mean synthesized drugs in general) that are widely used recreationaly are reasonably harmless if used sensibly.
It would be alot worse for the body and mind for someone to smoke ganja incessantly every day (like many on here do) than just jack up smack a few times a year. I know that doesn't happen very often in practice, but you get my point.
Also if people drank alcohol like many on here smoke weed they'd be subject to serious kidney and/or liver damage in place of maybe a bit of a cough, and when they wanted to stop insted of maybe a sleepless night and a few intense dreams they'd be shitting them selfs hallucinating and possibly convulsing and worse. Coming of alcohol for an alcoholic is as dangerous as coming of heroin for a smack head. Though I'm sure nearly everyone here drinks.
Acid, Mushrooms, and other psychedelics, if taken properly and with care are the most healthy of drugs, to the point of actualy being GOOD for the minds of some people, and totaly harmless to the body full stop, mushrooms contain vitamins as well.
