used to think bob marley's stir it up was actually saying Cereal til i bought my first bob cd and read the name of the song and had a lightbulb moment

one of my girls thought that Hold Me Closer Tiny Dancer was: Hold Me Closer Tony Danza.

so naturally we printed out huge pictures of tony danza with the lyric under it and posted them all over our apt.

My mom used to listen to this song all the time, and I had no clue those were actual words. Listen to the song and you'll know what I'm talking about.

I used to try to sing along like "sommity mon somity mon don't drink wine no!" And my whole family laughed at me.

I don't sing aloud if I don't think I know it. But when ever I am bumping my W7 subs in my M3 somebody starts singing along, It's interesting to listen to people sing haha.

Often times if somebody messes up a word they'll immediately stop singing and look out their window. Watch for it and you'll be like ":holy shit:"

But if I know the song, that's a different story. I'm all up in that shit, just not messin' up 8)

When I first started to listen to Sublime, for the longest time I just sang it by what I heard, and I heard wrong until I looked it up and actually found out what they were saying.

Made myself look like an ass, but I was deep into the music none the less.

There used to be this chick at my work that thought the same thing about that Tiny Dancer song. But other than that I can't really think of much.

i misunderstood a lot of songs,since i'm german,and grew up listening to mostly english music.
i can't think of anything specific.
maybe just certain rap verses or punchlines...in rap

I have absolutely noticed this before!!!!! haha i'm so happy other people notice random shit.
or the reaction is some sort of sound (usually oops or Ooh) followed by an awkward chuckle of some sort and then silence
