| presidents of the usa had a chance to see them live here in denver a couple nights ago, and let me tell you something, these guys dont need no instructions on how to rock. three people, 8 strings and one drumset.
they spread their songs out evenly between all albums, making sure to play pretty much all of the songs from their debut/most popular one. they played for about an hour, then took a quick break and came back for about a half hour encore.
the best part was during the song "old man on the back porch" when the singer/old man in the song told a little dueling banjos story that developed into a long jam that segued nicely back into the finish of the song.
i dont know how far through the tour they are, but if you arent doing anything the night they are in your town, i HIGHLY recommend seeing them play. lots of energy.
the opening band was a local act called team awesome- a group of college aged indie/alt rockers. their band contained a fiddler and a chick that played the trumpet(often while playing the), synthesizer, and bells.
the guitar travelled between a couple people and the drummer got up and sang in a couple songs.
they did a nice job of prepping the crowd for the pusa, and they are definitely looking like a band that will be around for awhile, so if you are in colorado and notice that they are playing at a venue near you, i doubt youd be disappointed in seeing them.
