Clearly you notice I am NOT a fan of Hip Hop. P.E. I'll give ya that, however Flav ruins everything for me (its kind of hard to listen to the message when someone keeps going YAH BOYYYEEEEEE all over the song)
Broaden your horizons...Hip Hop is alright but theres a lot better music out there. I hate to say it but Hip Hop got no feeling/soul. Its really hard to enjoy someone rapping about how much money THEY got, how much bling and crap THEY got, when theres starving kids in Africa who could feed themselves for a year off one diamond from a rapper's bling. Its also very degrading to women, I dont see why black women subject themselves to putting on clothes that hardly cover their body and shake their thing for 3 minutes in a video.
I dont know you, but the people I DO know that listen to hip hop, they dont give a flying rats turd about other people, they call women ho's and bitches and the like, they only seem to want one thing and thats money money money its quite depressing sometimes.
Pac had some very good songs, he opened people's eyes to the plight of the ghetto, Biggie showed people that its hard out there and even the best of people may need to sell drugs to survive, even then, that tool Puff Diddy Daddy Dildo dumbass had his claws into Biggie.
There ARE hip hop artists (not RAPPERS) who I respect and admire like KRS One, Positive K, Citizen Cope, Lupe Fiasco, PM Dawn, Das EFX, and even Will Smith, who rap about positive things and dont degrade people.
I know more about hip hop than you think so dont jump out like that and insult my intelligence thank you very much

The only rappers who do that were listed in my 'worst ever'. Seriously man, I don't know what crap hip hop your friends listen to but rappers like Immortal Technique or Outerspace DON"T rap about bling or bitches or whatever.

The only hip hop I like is the bass stuff that shakes my rear view and my side mirrors when I blast em. I really dont like hip hop unless I'm blazed enough and I want bass blasting in my ears.
Another thing, I'm Deaf, so its really really hard to follow rap when I'm trying to listen, most cases I cant make out the voice from the music or I can hear the voice but not the rhythm if you know what I mean??
Like in say....."My Name is" I can hear Em's voice but I can only understand the "My name is huh, my name is who, my name is wha, SLIM SHADY" parts.
Other songs I can actually hear the voices perfectly like Hustle and Flow soundtrack songs....It Aint Ova and Hard out here for a Pimp I follow pretty well.
When I say I'm deaf, I'm deaf I cant hear, however I do have a little hearing left so when I put inner ear headphones on, I can actually hear the voices and the music better (if I dont know the lyrics I wont understand a dang thing lol)
Thats the main reason I dont like hip hop too much.
I love metal for the music, but I can only really understand lyrics of a few metal songs.
Hip Hop just aint my thing, ever since the early 90s its been kind of crap....I miss those hip hop songs that you could either head bop to or groove to like "It was a Good day" or "Nuttin but a G Thang" and Almost everything on Snoop's first 2 CDs
Strangest thing is....my favorite Ice T song is "Cop Killa" and that was a metal song lol....that was so weird when I heard it and went "WTF this is Ice T?"

I gotta disagree with you on this one though crow, hip hop has a lot more to offer than your making it out as. I definately agree with you that rappers who talk about nothing but pimpin bitches and flashing bling are crap but theres a ton more to hip hop than that. Dont get me wrong, Im not big into hip hop myself, but I think theres more to the genre than your giving it credit for. Maybe this has something to do with your hearing issue, but that doesnt make the music bad, just something you dont or cant enjoy.

You started the thread listing mainstream artists..infact this thread would be pointless if it was nothing other then mainstream artists for the fact that you can't expect everyone to know of such underground artists like Del, IT, and even Nas and common aren't that well known to someone who isn't a hiphop fan. I could go on for hours listing some horrible ass underground artists...

The point Turtle was trying to make was that hip hop is not a worthless genre just because some of the guys who get a lot of attention are no-talent jackasses as crow seemed to be implying.
Also, I don't think you really know what 'underground' is... Go to local concerts, thats the underground man, not people who are signed to big record labels but don't get air time on the radio. Some of the artists he mentioned aren't as well known as Pac, Biggie and Snoop d o double g, but true fans of the genre will throw those names out because they're the ones who are really good(even if the don't get as much air time as Usher).
