Stoner Buck$$: 86.92 | Kryonus's Movie Reviews:Spawn (Old but still great) Having only being part of this great online community I decided I should add a bit of my own flavor to it. Being a huge movie buff and almost constantly smoking and watching the movies high. I'm going to kick off my weekly special with an old comic book great, Spawn. I stumbled upon it in an old box full of VHS from years ago.
(This one may be a wee short as I am just getting started. It will get better.)
SPAWN:
For the most part this movie stays true to the original comic book story arc. Very grim and dark, with a fair bit of dark humour. Michael Jai White did an amazing job of bringing Al Simmons into the NecroFlesh. The plot is pretty well clean cut, just enough to keep your attention. The movies action and special effects, (With the exception of Malbolgia's mouth not moving when he speaks) more than make up for the simple plot. Man gets killed, Man makes deal, Man gets revenge, etc, etc.
The movie did well in both the box office and dvd sales. The critics also received it well, praising it's action.
The acting is generally well on par. The only thing in the movie that strikes me as a bit silly is that in some scenes the suit of Necroflesh looks a bit cumbersome and unwieldy. Makes for awkward movements that are not "cool" friendly. Other than those small things, this makes for an amazing watch when your baked out of your mind. Great soundtrack and feel if your into the darker, more evil tinged stuff.

Acting sucked.
Plot sucked
Dude that played the clown guy sucked HARDCORE
basically the entire movie was crap but made better by the sweeeeeet soundtrack.
But thats just MY opinion.

The special effects were pretty bad ass. I must agree with psycrow though, that the plot sucked, but lets face it, their have been others with worse plots *Cough*... Captain America

Stoner Buck$$: 86.92 | Re: Kryonus's Movie Reviews:Spawn (Old but still great) Haha... well I suppose I was a bit lenient on this movie because it's one of my personal favorites... so I decided to word the phrase as "simple plot" instead of sucky one. Haha. But it is a bit lacking.
Yeah... When the Clown turns into the Violator is pretty sweet. (Vibrator... haha!)

Stoner Buck$$: 583.76 | Re: Kryonus's Movie Reviews:Spawn (Old but still great) I liked this movie when it first came out, even if it does seem a bit dated these days... but i was already a huge fan of Spawn... one of my top ten favourite comic characters for sure...
I wouldn't mind a sequel to this movie but it would have to run along the Eclipse story arc, where Spawn takes on both the armies of Hell and the armies of Heaven and totally obliterates them both, wiping out everything on the face of the planet in the process (allthough he gets the chance to "re-create" the world as he sees fit, and puts everything back the way it should be... but without religion)
Now THATS a fuckin Spawn Movie!!!
