Fresno just changed their rules there. I talked to a client today and they told me that Fresno has a restraining order against all of the storefront dispensaries.
It's a shame that they've shut them all down but I have to say that things have definitely gotten out of hand lately.
Many are promoting recreational drug use in advertising that is outright blatant and wrong. This is Medical Marijuana and not Marijuana we're talking about.
Can you imagine if Walgreen's had a happy hour for their Oxycontin and had a vapor room for smoking Crystal made out of the cold medicine they sell? It seems that some may have needed to be put in to check.
These are very fragile times and we don't need any bad publicity. We are setting history here for the rest of the nation and how we deal with this will determine the outcome for everyone.
Happy hours, hash bars, vapor rooms and open 24 hours? Come on. Focus on treating your patients right and putting your money back in to good meds and the community instead of full page ads marketing, "A trip to Amsterdam in the middle of Los Angeles", etc.
Instead of putting the money in to ads like this, my opinion and that's all it is, is an opinion, is to put it in to learning the law so you know what you're getting in to and so you know what to do and what not to do and put it back in to the Collective and the community.
