Do you differentiate between "Legal" and "Lawful"?

In what context?

Causally, I typically treat them as synonymous; not only are they near-interchangeable in most circumstances (indeed, they are often listed as synonyms in lay dictionaries), but many people don't actually know the difference, so it makes for tiresome extra explanation when treating them as synonymous is generally acceptable. There are of course exceptions, particularly when one wishes to make point about the difference.

In a formal or academic setting? Of course they're different, and I would treat them as different terms with different meanings.

So I guess my answer is "it depends."

as far as im concerned its a moot point i know there is a huge diverence and i am actually a stickler in differences but the majority of the population are dim-minded buffoons

I think it makes as big a difference as you believe it does. If the question is legalization, then it is a legal issue, not a lawful one. Pot is perfectly lawful, until you enter the legal realm, which is the realm of contract law. Pot is against the law because YOU agree it is. A contract requires your consent, even a social one.
