Let me ask you something, and be totally honest.
White boy in your neighborhood calls a black man the N word, what's gonna happen? Chances are he's gonna get some type of beating or worse, shot and killed (yes over a stupid word) so white boy knows not to call the black person the N word no matter what context its in....RIGHT?
Its the same shit, you don't call a woman a bitch....period. Man I hate that these 18 and 19 year olds don't comprehend that words can hurt. I grew up in a small town, NOT a suburb....I constantly was called names and picked on due to two things, Deafness and ADHD, words hurt man, even if they're in a context that would be "friendly" I've been called a retard because I wore a device called a phonic ear which is basically an 80s version of the I Pod, except, it wasn't COOL. I've been called all kinds of names and while I shrug it off, it still hurts.
Now think about his, girls and women these days are very much having a hard time growing up and being confident in themselves and for the most part have a fragile self esteem, why? Because apparently everyone's idea of a perfect woman is either some Victoria's Secret supermodel (after 10 lbs of makeup and a couple of eating disorders) or its those "perfect" girls that you see in all the movies, the Jessica Albas, the Lindsay Lohans (when she's not drunk or stoned out of her mind) the Ashlee Simpsons....the list goes on, girls and women of all ages are striving to be like those women so they can be "accepted" So while it may seem like this girl and that girl doesn't mind being called a bitch, the reality is, it hurts them, they don't or wont tell you that it bothers them because they want to be accepted. Girls are even calling themselves bitches now because they think they'll be accepted and viewed as "cool" because they're "bitches" I bet you more often than not, these girls will either a) end up having physical and psychological disorders most of their lives (eating disorders, inferiority complex, drug addictions...etc etc) or B) Kill themselves because they're basically already "killing" themselves to be accepted. Every time a guy (or gal) calls a woman a bitch, it hurts them. So instead of telling me to chill out, ask any woman on this site if they actually LIKE being called a bitch....the majority will tell you NO.
The word bitch is disrespectful to women, no matter what context you put it in, I hate to see a man call a woman a bitch no matter if its joking or not, no matter if its "friendly" or not, I myself refuse to call a woman a bitch, even if she's cruel and mean to me. Like I said, you got a lot of learning about respecting women.
As for the line from a movie, that's another thing that is wrong with this world today, people think that if someone in a movie says something, its ok to do or say the things they do. Hollywood now more than ever, is putting out movies that are demoralizing the values of our country, movies like road trip, "how to be a player" "players club" and countless other movies that glorify using women as objects are teaching our younger generation that its ok to view a woman as a sex object. I bet when a nice looking woman walks by, the first thing that pops in your head is "DAMN I'd tap that" weather or not you want to admit it, it seems that way from the posts I've read.
Yeah I probably just killed a lot of people's buzz by typing this out, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a smart ass comment back, but I said my piece and I really hope you realize soon, that you'll go a long way, when you respect other people, and that starts with how you talk to someone.
I'm willing to bet that when you go in for an interview for a job you don't go in and say "Whats up bitch, I'm down with this shit." Right? You're a little more polite and respectable....why can't you apply that kind of attitude to your life....you're 19, in 10 years (and thats how old I am now) you're going to look back and go "I can't believe I talked like that".....unless of course...you refuse to change.
And if I had some weed, I would chill, but I don't, my back pains are flaring up, I can't sleep at night, I'm sore from the neck down, and I'm tired of people, especially young people, thinking that certain slang is ok.
Take it from me, that kind of stuff doesn't fly well around here, so if you can show some respect, I'll show you some.
I apologize for the long post and my attitude but I just want you to understand that it doesn't matter where you come from, on stonerforums, you respect us, we'll respect you, that begins with how you talk to people and what type of "slang" you use.
peace | very, very well said and quite accurate. we get used to it and don't really like it as it is disrespectful to women really. Rap music encourages it. I would slap the hell outta my sons if they EVER called a woman a bitch or a ****. But my boys have more class than that. And respect women. It is women who gave birth to you. Thank your mother for doing that. And don't treat women any different in respect than you would your mother.
Men are gonna be lost without us for damn sure. I am getting married soon and would not marry this man if he talked to me that way. But luckily there are many, many men who have class! And lots of good women out there. You just have to be selective in your choosing. And if you find the right woman, you want need a second woman or man in your bed. Sex with just two is quite nice if it is the right person. BUT....WHATEVER!!!! Live and let live! | |

this is an internet forum, with people from all sorts of backgrounds and upbringings. there are different cultural norms in different places, and therefore when i use a word it may not necessarily mean the exact same thing as it would when you use it.
where you from? im gonna take a shot in the dark here and assume some well-off, relatively crime free suburb, a place where referring to a female as "bitch" is considered extremely disrespectful, correct? well im not from where youre from... i was born and raised in gardena, california (south central LA, about 5 minutes NW of compton), and because of the environment in which i was raised, i most likely have an entirely different vocabulary and set of values than you do.
where i come from, the word "bitch" (depending on how its used) is usually nothing more than a synonym for "woman." even today, living in colorado, when certain girls call me up ill occasionally answer the phone with somethin like "whatup bitch," and they're not offended because they know me and they know that i dont mean it in a disrespectful way. what makes a word like that disrespectful isnt the word itself - its the intentions behind it, the way it was used. the vast majority of the time, when i say "bitch," im just using it as a synonym for "girl," i dont mean any disrespect... so you can stop this shit about how i need to lean how to respect women haha...
as far as the "it wasnt cheating" thing... i know i shouldnt have cheated in the first place, that was a mistake. but after all was done, i was getting dumped either way...so i decided, for the sake of entertainment, to tell her about the 3-some rule from Road Trip. big fucking deal, it was a lil comment i made 5 years ago, just trying to lighten up a shitty conversation. you seriously need some lightening up man | To me its just a word, I try to avoid using it around girls, and or my girlfriend. But with my guy friends its a pretty common slip up. I mean it as no disrespect, I wont lie, if im in a car full of my boys and we are heading to a party I might say "what bitches are gonna be there?" I wont lie, to me its a word. But still some women could get offended so I try to avoid that word around any girl. Quote:

But live and let live is my motto. TOO damn many moral police out there anyway with the Christian RIGHT! HYPOCRITS is more like it IMHO! as they are the ones who fuck around the MOST! Please don't the Christians get all hotsey-totsy about it. America is freedom of beliefs.
"All we are saying, is give peace a CHANCE" | I never said I would share the one I love, I wouldnt, because no dude is hoping into bed with me. But i wouldn't turn down two girls, especially if i wasnt in a relationship. If i was in a relationship, maybe, i would, if my girlfriend really wanted to bring home a friend, lol. But im sure if a girl has real feelings for you, she wont want to see you touch another girl, let alone a naked girl

peace | you say that words hurt... but how would your deaf ass know???
haha im sorry man, im totally playin around, just couldnt resist that one
i understand your points dog, i just dont agree... seems to me like youre tryin to impose your moral values code on other people, and when these other people come from a totally different environment than you, that shit dont work.
it all goes back to what i said in my 1st post: whether or not a word is disrespectful depends on the context and intentions behind it.... i dont think youd disagree with that
You asked about the N word. First you have to understand how black folk in the hood define that.... "n!gga" is a term of endearment, fraternity, brotherhood, etc.... "n!gger" is an extremely disrespectful, racist term that in many instances certainly warrants a beatdown. that may seem trivial to you, but thats how shit works. You asked what happens when a white boy calls a black dude that... the answer is that it depends on the context. My ethnicity is mixed, part white, part cherokee, part mexican, but i have lighter skin and i pretty much look like a tan cracker. when i grew up in LA, most of my friends were black or mexican, all of whom referred to me as their "n!gga," and i was free to call them that as well. In that context, "n!gga" is nothing more than a synonym for "homeboy." However, because of the word's history and all that, white people have to essentially have permission to use it, or at least have the common sense to know which people you are good enough friends with to call them your "n!gga."
Thus, whether or not white boys get hand slaps or curb-stomps when they use the n-word depends on the context. White people know damn well how racist and disrespectful "n!gger" is to black people... so if there are words being exchanged, and a white person says "n!gger" in a hostile, disrespectful context, it is taken as racist and they may very well get fucked up because of it.
Its like Tupac said.... "'N!ggER' is the dudes with the noose on they neck, hangin from the thing.... 'n!ggA' is the dudes with gold ropes, hangin out in the clubs."
These words are not equivalent, as obviously "n!gger" evokes much stronger emotions than "bitch," but the same principle still applies for "bitch" (at least where im from)... it all depends on the context and the intentions behind the use of the word. If someone is fighting with a girl and calls them a "bitch" out of anger, that is TOTALLY different than a few dudes hanging out and talking about "bitches" at a party or whatever (like Blitzed was talkin about).
As for everything you said about women's lives being so hard because of cultural expectations and whatnot, sure, i pretty much agree.... but come on now. the world's a fucked up place, and there are many, many more troubling issues than American bitches (sorry, i mean, young American women) having "fragile self esteem."
Sure, when a fine "young woman" walks past me, the first thought running through my head is something along the lines of "Yeah, Id throw her a bone." I think thats pretty much a natural reaction for a teen male to have.... what are you saying it should be... "Damnnnnn look at that fine young woman, I bet she has an amazing personality!"
Honestly man, youre comin off like one of those old-ass white politicians crusading against raunchy movies, degrading rap songs, and violent video games... really all i have to say about that is that kids are raised by the influential figures in their lives: their parents, older siblings, friends, etc... they are raised and shaped by their environment, not by what they watch on TV.
Its all love though man.... I know im new here and all that, and I dont want any problems or whatever, so Im gonna do my very best to respect everyone on this site. I never called another member on this site "bitch"... i used "bitches" as a generic word, a synonym for "women." Not to be disrespectful, thats just the way people talk where im from. Like Blitzed said, words are just that - words. It doesnt make sense to me to make a huge deal out of the words themselves... what is important is the context and the intentions behind the words when theyre used. Im not gonna change the way I talk just because certain people from totally different backgrounds than me are trying to apply their moral code of values, and the cultural norms that they are used to, to the things I say.
Peace

First off....the "Deaf Ass" joke...totally NOT funny no matter if you were kidding or not. Its stuff like that, that really messed up my childhood/early teens. I was suicidal until about 11th grade (thats even after I transfered to a Deaf school) because of how I was treated in the hearing world, therefore when someone makes fun of me or insults me due to something I have no control over, it bothers me.
Second of all....you say kids are raised by parents, siblings, friends etc etc?? So you're saying that your mom and dad raised you to say Bitches and *****s and all that? Ok thats fine with me, but like I said, you gotta respect people, women don't like being called a bitch or even the C word for that matter, and on this site theres a lot of women who read posts and when they see that, they're going to assume you're a disrespectful male who might possibly have some type of violent or hatred tendencies towards women, perhaps you don't want to cast yourself in that light.
Yeah Blitzed said that when he's with the boys, I understand that, but did you also see that he said he TRIES not to say it in front of a woman or girl? Thats called respect. I'll say things with my boys that I wouldn't say in front of a woman, any man will, thats a normal male bonding thing. Like I said, it's just plain disrespectful.
I'm not telling you NOT to say it, nor am I saying you're not allowed to say it, I'm just telling you to show a little respect when you talk about women on this site, there are a lot of women here and I'd like to think that we men are respectful towards them.
As for the whole *****/****** thing, I have black friends and even then I would never say "Whassup my *****" to them, they in turn never call me a honky or cracker or all that stuff.
Its like a joke I have with my black friends, they think its hilarious and they actually don't mind me telling that one joke.
"Whats up with black people calling each other *****s? They're always saying "Whassup my *****" and stuff like that, do you see white people going out and saying "Whassup my crackaaaaaaa" or Mexicans going "Whassup my spiccaaaa" or Asians going "Whassup my Chinkaaaa???" I didn't think so."
thats the only time I'll use those types of words.
hey, I know you're new to the site and I'm here to let ya know, what you say can be taken as insulting or hurtful by others even if you don't mean it, if I didn't care, I wouldn't have said anything.
So lets just smoke a bowl....aww I can't I don't have any to smoke lol
Peace Wigga (lol)
