I was at wal mart picking up some groceries and just happened by the lighting section. They were having a sale on under the cabinet lights(a small watt cfl), and I thought hey I'll pick one up I can always use it as a side mount. I also picked the one up that says grow light on the package(its the same light but different package). Anyway I wasn't nervous because hey this is wal mart and who is gonna care, but as I was waiting to check out I was like I know this guy is gonna say something, although I wasn't showing any nervousness. So as he scans the light that says grow light on the package(it was nine bucks), he holds it up and shoves it in my face and says" What's this?!!!!" without smiling and looking pissed. I just said "huh?" and then he put it in my cart. What do you guys think?

i say that if you were a granny that bs wouldnt have happend. you should have reported him and get his ass fired.

there is nothing wrong with the package. its not like you were getting a whole grow set at once.

yeah thing is, wal mart carries it therefore a customer buying it isn't an illegal practice. I would have just said none of your fucking business, you're a clerk nothing else

Seriously. People are allowed to grow plants in their homes. Just because you are getting a grow light does not mean you are growing something illegal. I totally would have complained to the manager, dude had no right to treat you like a freaking criminal when for all he knows you are growing orchids or something!

I woulda just looked him in the eye, dead-pan, and said "you put them in the house where you have plants to give them simulated sunlight"...... and then added... "You've been badly served by the public education system, haven't you.... my homeschooled son is 7 and he not only knows what they are and what they are for, he knows how to install one"......

I'd find turning the situation back on them much more gratifying than wasting my time complaining to their boss (who isn't gonna do anything anyway after the kid insists he was just making conversation and really didn't know what it was for)....

now that woulda been funny as hell!

yeah some people like to give you shit about your buyings. Some older religious fanatic, gave me shit cause a 19 year old kid is buying a bag of soil. He told me "don't do anything jesus wouldn't do." So i went home and smoked some hashish. I'm pretty sure jesus did. Either way i'm also growing a tomato plant, so fuck him.
