I know i should plunder the boards for a good answer but was hoping to get a quick feel on how good "Ebay grow lights" actually is. They have a good customer rating. Has anyone ever ordered their product? I was hoping to compare their hardware to sun systems 2? Ebay has a better price for a conversion system. Any thoughts? Thanks.

most of the sellers on ebay are reliable. Mostly because its so freakin hard to get past their security. plus ebay offers protection for buyers as well as sellers in cases of ripoffs. i'd go for it if they have a good customer rating

The only thing to consider is that ebay will hand all your information to LEO without questions or a fight. If you live somewhere where prohibition is still strong, I would advise against ebay and go with a good shop like High Tech Garden Supply.

hey thanks, HTG was the ebay supplier I was curious about.

If you're using them anyway, you should order direct from their site, rather than through ebay. They're very nice. They ship ridiculously quick too.

I found it kind of ironic that HTG was based in PA and that PA was the state that brought down Tommy Chong......lol. That's why i was cautious about HTG.

HA! Weird man. I ordered from them though, all the way to AK and still received my cheeseburgers in only a couple days.

i didnt think about that one. Anytime you see something on ebay search google to see if they have a direct website. Yeah it can be cheaper going through ebay, but with court fees in the long run its not so cheap

no worries, it just spooked me the guy was from PA. If you watch that documentary on Tommy Chong(its been on cable lately) They harrassed the shit out of his son till they got what they wanted. Just wanted to make sure. Thanks for the help, everyone is way cool on these boards. I had been away for some years now, and when I went back to see if Cannibas.com was still good, it was like "I am Legend" on those forums.

I got mine from HTG as well. Off of Ebay cause I really didn't think about that. However, it also isn't illegal to own a light so I am not to worried about it.

I like mine, I got the 400w that came with the HPS and MH bulb, ballast and everything, timer and something else I can't remember for about $150. That was after my ebay coupon.

It is really hot, and there isn't a lot of room on the reflector for ducting so we had to get creative. Squished our 4" ducting into an oval shape and cut an oval shaped hole out of both sides. Really glad we did though, it was 111 degrees in there with the door wide open, now it is 90 with the door cracked.

Is that with a Central Air Unit maintaining ambient air temperature at 78 degrees? I'm wondering if the Sun System 2 would maintain a cooler temp with a compact ballast. Have you seen those? Way cool.

ok, ok, here is some pics,,,keep in mind i am just playing around till I get set up, but these are bag seeds under flouro about a week. I know, I know, I need a good HPS or MH, I am saving for it........but I thought I would experiment anyway till I get set up.

Ive pretty much mastered germination at 70-80 percent with Jiffy pods. FYI
