Hello everyone. Recently, Cannabis has aroused my curiosity. I've searched online, and have found a lot of contradicting claims cannabis, such as that it causes cancer, yet it decreases the size of tumors in the lungs. I also read that it relieves stress. I'm starting to think the mainstream view of marijuana is flawed and laughable, such as it causes cancer, yet I've seen not one reported case of medical complications caused by marijuana. My parents smoked it occasionally with a good friend of theirs. My father, has never once smoked a cigarette, but did admit to smoking weed. My mom merely puffed a cigarette once in her life, and also admitted to smoking marijuana (she also said marijuana felt much smoother than a cigarette, which comes as no surprise to me). They're both fine, I turned out fine, I have a learning disorder but it seems practically nonexistent. I like to think I make responsible choices, and if I were to get a hold of cannabis, I would use it responsibly as well. I am NOT one of those people who wants to experiment with other drugs or alcohol, or smoke cigarettes. I do not want to be associated with any of it! The thing is, from what I've read, marijuana seems to have an abundance of positive affects, and has been said to be "as addictive as coffee."

It's just hard to use it responsibly when it's illegal. I have yet to look into how long cannabis stays in your system. If I were to get a drug test in the future and smoked marijuana five days before, I would be terrified and would not know what to do. I suppose it all depends on the amount. I do not work, so I can't expect a drug test anytime soon. The only time I would see it happening is at the doctor's office.

Another thing...I have no idea how to obtain marijuana. I don't know if I should trust dealers. Do they lace it with undesirable substances? I've heard things like "laced with drain cleaner to make it grow faster," and I would think of it as rubbish, but I know nothing on dealers.

Meh, I need advice on how to try it. As aforementioned, I am not willing to try anything else. I've heard the "gateway drug" theory and all, but I don't see weed as a gateway to anything but relaxation and carelessness. So, welcomes are appreciated; tips and advice especially are as well.

i'm sorry dude. I just wrote this really long thing answering every question in detail and accidentally hit refresh (its dark in my room). Some one help this guy out, i feel bad but there's no way in hell i'm rewriting everything i just did again. If nobody helps you out i'll probably feel up to typing it again tomorrow.

i'll some up what i said and say this though: expect 5-30 days to pass a drug test, 5 if you only smoke once 30 if its all the time. Dont buy from strangers. Most weed isnt laced and most dealers won't rip you off because they are, well, businessmen. Not true all the time though so its good to have a friend who knows stuff.

Some of what I've learned through my time smoking (7ish years) that may help you:

- Dealers since the early millennium have not laced weed. Anyone doing that is losing money and then customers. Look at a bunch of good weed pics, and make sure you buy something that looks like it has sugar on it. It may have milky or amber crystals. It should smell nice, not like cat nip or stale. It should be dry but sticky, never wet.

Ways to pass a drug test: certo (about $6 for 3, sold at vons), detox drinks (range from $5 - $20 at smoke shops, and swap meets in my area) Exercise, drink lots of water and cranberry juice if you can't afford the drinks and wait 30 days if you plan on smoking more than once. Your doctor won't rat you out though. I've taken a ton of dirty piss tests for my doc. I'd be in jail if that were the case. Do note I have never taken one for the cops or a job though.

That really is a damn shame...people shouldn't get thrown in jail for simply smoking a PLANT. I mean...America was practically built on hemp. The Declaration of Independence...written on hemp paper. Sigh...what happened?

Interesting that humans have cannabinoid receptors, too. Clearly we were created to be able to handle cannabis, as well as to benefit from it. Sigh...

I was gonna answer some questions.. by the time I got to the end of the thread I forgot almost everything you wrote.

Taking a piss test for a doctor would be like taking a practice test. Doctor/Patient confidential or whatever. I thought the same thing about 3 years ago when I went for my check up.. Piss test?? Wha.. I gotta get out a here.. Then he explained it had medical relevance so I gave him some pee.

Hey and welcome. The best way to get weed that you can trust is to grow ur own. It's not hard at all. If you can grow a tomato plant, you can grow weed. If you have a friend that smokes, family member something, ask them to get you some. Marijuana has many great qualities and it is a shame it has come to this. Instead of legalizing and taxing it, the government is putting it in the hands of children who havent even begun to start living. It makes criminals out of law abiding citizens, all because they know we will grow our own anyway. Instead of making farms and creating millions of jobs, they are giving it to the mexican drug cartel and any dope dealer on the street. All of this money that could help our country isn't in the right places. Only advice i know to give you, find a friend or family member, or grow some. Its not as hard as some people think it is. Oh yeah, don't make any plans the day of ur first time, you'll either be far too stoned, or pissed because you didn't feel anything. And that's normal. The first time many people don't feel the effects, and many people smoke theirself retarded. Just a matter of the person i think. Second time......you won't have any worries!
