Ok..... first grow inside ( closet 4 X 3 ) ......8 CFLs and 2 florescents........in 35 day of flowering White Widow ( from top rated seed company). I do not see
lots of trichomes. Forming buds are purple, some hairs are already turned auburn. Only about 3 to 4 weeks to go. Temp averages 73 F, humidity 50 %. No CO2. using blooming fert. Kinda disappointed in the yield so far. Should I have used the high powered NA lamp for flowering ?

I woulnt worry to much,ww can take up to 10 weeks.in the last few weeks theyll frost up.
Use hid's for maximum resin production,while cfl's work they arent the same,ive seen side by side clf,hps,there wasnt much differance,but they were using 2x250w cfl - 1 400whps.Blue spec clf for veg,and red spec for bloom.
The cfl's you are you are using are presumably household and not horticultural?

Hi Thanks for the response. I have uploaded some pics. Notice that the plants themselves are kinda scrawny...... but the bud looks nice .... but small and not many crystals. ( this is 36th day of flowering). I used organic soil and 20-20-20 for veg ( 18/6) and 15-30-15 for flowering ( Miracle Grow). Notice the CFL setup. What is HID ? Any help would be appreciated. I would like a 'White' Christmas !!! Happy Holidays !!

The type of lights for max production,hid,high intensity dischacrge,hps,high powered sodium.
They are horticultural lamps for growing plants.
Its all about the spectrum.
When growing weed I reconmend a decent lamp,as lots of smaller lamps aint the same.
Dosent look like any ww ive ever had,looks very sat dom.

If these seeds are not WW, I will be very disappointed as I took the time to research the best seed banks. I got these seeds from a Dutch company that was highly recommended by Green man's Seedbank Update. Cost me some $$

so then maybe the problem is my CFL set up.... wrong spectrum, etc.
For the small amount of plants I grow, I dont want to get into the HPS high temperature / Fans for fresh air and cooling / CO2 ...... just want something simple. I may have to stay with Mother nature and grow outside. She's cheap.

just gotta keep trying.... according to the seed company , WW flowering goes for 10 weeks. so I got 5 weeks to go. We'll see how this comes out.

Yes bro,I hope you do well,just a thought 1 250w cfl dont put out too much heat,ive seen 2 in a cab with just a small pc fan,and the plant were fine.Pluss they are cheap,for the diff they make they sure are worth the money.

Could this be a case of over fertilization ? I did use 15-30-15 about every other day. I have taken a sample bud and am drying now. I will be testing
shortly. Hoping to use lessons learned in next grow. Thanks for all the help and good ideas

You are doing fine with what you are using.Your buds are looking very well to me for being under CFL's.Please don't expect a bumpber crop of a few CFL's, it's not gonna happen.You simply do not have enough light to add length & wieght to your bud's.U should end up with a 2 maybe 3 inch top bud(the colas look very good,closer to 5-6").The buds look fairly dense for your system & your leaves look good.Small amount of tip burn but nothing to be concerned of.
You need to look into a 400 watt HIGH PRESSURE SODIUM or METAL HALIDE set up to produce the buds you crave.The heat is a issue for a smaller closet but managable.My closet was 6'L x 3' W x 5 1/2 ' T * was runnin 2 400 watters & a bathroom exhaust fan.My buds suffered from the heat & I still could produce 1 - 1 1/2 oz per plant of kush.
You need to get urself a better fertilizer line.Start low dosage on what ever kind you use to see how plants react.Remeber that the goal of fert company is to sell the product,so use the direction's as a guide line not a rule.
Last that bud is not gonna be ready for a while & that sample bud is gonna be full of clear trich's that will produce a more paranoid type high real speedy I am betting.Don't go by the orange hairs go by the trichs.
I think you are doing fine for your first grow indoors.Get a scope for them trichs & keep up th good work

Yes.... part of the problem was unrealistic expectations with 8 CFLs and 2 fans..... and too much attention ( water and nutes). So I went and harvested 1 WW and set the other plant to 24 hour dark schedule. Will harvest in 2 weeks and start my next grow with 2 Inca Spirit and 2 WW seeds. This time I will not wait 49 days to flower..... try to do it sooner. I might want to cross these two if a male pops up. I can get in this grow before the June 1 outdoor gro. Thanks unmeg for the encouragement. This is an art form of which i am not familiar. I will take your advise on the nutes and go lightly at the start. I have family waiting and lined up to do my testing for me. The family that grows together is happy and always smiling.

I think the 24 hr dark peroid was bad idea.Your plants are just gonna go into shock & stop producen as much because of the stress.Let me know how it comes out.
maybe you should vegg lil longer to faten your harvest up.If you decide to do shorter vegg. go with more plants to make up the diff. for the short cycle.
I really think you should get with your family & start a grow fund to make your effort worth your time.They know what ur doing & are smoking ur work.....make em cough a lil green with their green.peace

I did a post mortem on my bud situation. During the grinding, I found 3 small seeds. So what happened is that the 2 males I took out of the location did their thing before they were destroyed. And I harvested the 2 females before seed production was finished And the quality of the high was just like the normal shit I get from friends. But the real reason I believe is that
I was flowering with the same CFLs and didnt spring for a HPS lamp that simulates the 'Harvest' sun. I would like to thank unmeg for this advice and help. So I went ahead and planted 2 'Inca Spirit' and 2 ' White Widow' seeds on Jan 1 and they vegged at 24 / 0 up until last week when I set the timer to 12/12. I also cut way back on the nutes. I was over doing it. And I just sprang for a 150 Watt HPS lamp kit with ballast. So I am learning from my mistakes. I believe I now have all females !! But its ok as i need to replenish my seed stock with this cross. Will post pic tomorrow.. thanks everybody
