Adjusting pH After Planting

My plants are a few weeks old and their pH is terrible (around 5).

I have been searching all morning through the web and I can't find anything that actually tells you how to adjust the pH up.

So, my simple, yet seemingly impossible, question is: How do I raise the pH in the soil of my already planted, weeks old, plants? What do I use (I hear the Dolomite Lime is good, but it is always in the context of pre-planting), how do I use it.

I repeat: How do I use it?

Thank you.

Re: Adjusting pH After Planting

is your soil high in peat moss? that can lower ph but usually quality potting soil is at or very close to a neutral 7...have you tested your water? in most cases, tap water has a high ph (mine is a 9++) so if yours is close to the same then it'll balance out once in the soil. as far as raising ph, wood ash works and is usually handy but be sure to test your mix before using it with the plants cuz it's too late after that. what kind of potting soil are you using and are you sure the test is the right one for soil? potting soil ph of 5 just doesn't sound right...unless you got the dirt made for acid loving plants like african violets. if that's the case your best bet is to ditch that dirt and buy some quality stuff.

good luck
