i have a heat problem

ok i have been testing my closet while waiting for my seeds. i have a huge temp swing. it goes from (lights off) 56 degrees to a high (lights on just before turning off) of 114 degrees. my closet space is 42" X 24" X 6'.

i am using 12 26 wat cfls 6500k bulbs. the entire room is lined with emergency blankets.

now i rent the apartment so i am worried about cutting the walls. there is a closet next to my closet(in the next bedroom we use for storage) there is a entry to the space above the cieling. But have not checked up there yet(don't think it is an option).

if i do cut the wall how hard is it to fix when i move?

also is the space under the door enough for air intake?(i really only want to cut one hole)

the fan i want to use is

Re: i have a heat problem

Okay i don't really know alot about fans and air movement but if you cut a whole in a wall you will either have to replace the entire sheet of sheet rock. Which would include: re-surfacing, painting the whole room with the new color of paint so that its not noticeable...If there is any way for you to go around cutting a hole in the wall I would suggest you do it. Sheet rock is messy and very difficult to work with especially if you never have before. I don't know if that is what your walls are made of but sheet rock is pretty standard anymore.
Good luck,

Toasty

Re: i have a heat problem

thats just a booster fan,its made to move air that is already moving..165cfm is not enough..Get an oscillating fan from home depot for your space, cfls are easy to cool..If you want HIDs go with the inline, vortex,or squirrel cage blowers. good luck.

Re: i have a heat problem

I don't know overgrown...12 of those lamps would get some heat generated.

I have always experimented...I recently bought those fans, just to prove that they wouldn't work. You can always return them to Hopot if it doesn't work...Anyway. I bought a 6", and an 8". I use the 8" to exhaust, and the 6" to intake from under the building. They would work great for your small space. You may have to run them a bit longer then others, but it is worth a try.

Here is another option, that One of members turned us onto, awhile back.
