I think I will go with soil and grow in my closet or attic(does get cold though). Wouls go hydro if systmes dont cost arm and a leg

Where do I begin?? Besides seeds of course.
Is it difficult? I would like to be able to have enough for wife and I to smoke.

go with soil if you've never done this before it's more forgiving then hydro all you need to do is grow 2 plant that yeild nicly but you've got to find the strain that will give you what you want then go from there welcome to sf hope to see you round hear some time good luck

Seems easier I think for my needs.

ANy recommendations on soil type? Can I just use the stuff from Home depot? What should I look for.

the frist q is how much do you want to spend i my self am still playing with a good mix but learning ever time lol it's easy to do right now i'm going with a mix of vermiculite,perlite wormcasting's,bat guano,and dirt you want light airy mix but stiff enuff to hold plant upright good place o start is find out if there are any hydro store in your area thell have some of the stuff and home depot will have the rest

well if all ur gonna do is supply you & your wife i suggest miricle-gro potting mix and mix in some perlite i t may cost more but if you,ve seen my pics of my gro-ops u,ll understand why i suggest mg it really does grow buds twice as big as norml.also get urself a book called the cannabible and studied it like ur gonna be tested on growing.

Need to find good place to buy lighs and and such now.
Oh plus I have to convince wife it will work out

think bout compact flo's keep's the heat down look round the web there's place's all over check ebay say way from inside sun tho i've had prb's with him before and the hydro store in my area had prob's with him 5000$ worth for him but it's out there i messd up when i got light's i got 400 hps and keep my room wormer then i want it so that's why i say go to compact flo's plus with a hps it will hang vert or horiz and beam's down in an a shape the is disburst with compact you have light evenly dis over the baby's a longer dist then an hps and get the light closer to the plant with out harming them there was an article in high times bout this with in the last 2 or 3 month go to the web site and search it i think it's in ask george pretty intresting well cya round man and good luck in your ventures
