Has anyone seen this before?!

My Sour D plant has latteral shoots growing in the exact spot where plants show sex!! Has anyone seen this before?
I thought it was a male because there was something wired growing where plants sohw sex, I almost pulled it, but it's the only 1 I have.
I found 1 seed in a 8th I bought last year and finally have gotten this far so I waited. It's still in veg. and I know plants have to flower to show sex so I was confused when I saw this growth.
Also this plant topped itself, it didn't give me a chance to clone the main bud,it grew 12 nodes then the main top stopped growing.
Is this plant a mutent or is this normal for this strain?

Looks ok to me, How long has it been since the top stopped growing? Maintain Veg, So no sex yet? It should be showing it's sex by now. I would suggest and try and get more seeds so you have a healthy female.

yeah looks fine to me just find out the sex of the plant like he said keep it in veg for a little wile longer then flower it

Hey Bluefish... how are the roots looking? From what it sounds like... the main is already stunted.

I see hydroton and water ring. Make sure those hydroton do not get slimy, algae build up. PH the water.. harder for water to form algae. Keeping light away from water helps.

Try some mycorrhizal.

Sex does not necessarily need to be flowered to show.. it can show in veg. Most of the seeds I have dealt with eventually showed sex by the 6th week in veg under either 600 or 1000 mh conversion.

Might need some extra N... color and the way the leaves look might need some help.

When its healthier... hack off the top. No sense in keeping the stunt. Top it to promote some new growth.

I can go on and on... but these tips will help.

There's nothing wierd about it, it's normal. That is another branch starting up. Every spot where a leaf stem attaches to a main stem is a potential branch starting point. Your plant looks very good! keep it up!
