Re: Spider Mites

how bad are they on the one plant?

always be sure to check for the eggs as well, small white dots usually on the bottoms of leaves, more often than not starting at the base of the blade.

the best way to get rid of them if you have control over the humidity in the room is predator mites. they like humid conditions.

neem oil is safe for foiliar spraying, it will kill lives ones but not the eggs, so repeating the process every few days is required.

pyrithrin bombs work well, using 2 total, 4-7 days apart you should be able to wipe out a contaminated room.

sm-90 is a great product to use, adding 3 mils per gallon every other watering makes it so when the mites feed on the plant, they are poisoned. it can also be used as a foliar spray, but is more harsh than the neem oil.

manual physical removal, with a stiffish paintbrush, or cloth can be accomplished, as well as simply removing severely infected(eggs) leaves.

Re: Spider Mites

I concur. If you just have a small problem...buy neem oil, and follow directions. As mentioned repeat in 5-7 days, for a couple of weeks and you should be fine. Neem does a good job, especially if the problem just developed. GoodLuck. Peace

p.s. apply right before lights out. By morning they oil will be dissapated to the point heat won't do harm.

veg 2 weeks after roots... I always used general hydroponics 3-part, Liquid /Karma, Calmag+, and boost with hammerhead. (until I started mixing my own, soon to be for sale)
flush with flora-kleen or final phase

Re: Spider Mites

You can try "Spider Mite Predators". Also "Neem Oil" is effective. You can also use any "Pest Control Spray" which made specially for hydroponics gardening.

Re: Spider Mites

Sour D was one of the strains I used to grow.. It isn't too hard to grow, much easier than white widow.. I used to flower 60 days, after checking under the scope, they seemed to be ready at that point.. Usually sativas go longer, but it was great at 60 days. As far as veg time, depends on how tall you want them to finish.. Most plants will grow at least twice the size as when you put them in the flowering stage, usually more depending on strain. The SourD strain around here is tall and lanky, and grew 3 times its size from start of flower, although the 600W I threw at em at that point helped a lot too... I used to use the pyrithrin bombs as well, I would use half a bomb (you can stop it the bomb, just dont inhale the gas obviously)and 2 days later the other half, then use neem oil for maintenance.. If it is a smaller garden you have a good chance to control them, can inspect easier, but sometimes in bigger grows, once they get bad, they are almost impossible to get rid of.. If you find a leaf totally infested, snip the leave. Only a few or less on a leave, it can be saved.. I hate em.. Good Luck!!!!
PS- the general hydro 3 part system always worked best for me as well, and then I experimented with different bloom boosters.. Synergy always seemed to work well!!!

Re: Spider Mites

If your plants are not too big you can dip them straight into a neem oil solution. If they are too big spray the underside of the leaves with a water nozzle first, let them dry, and then hit them with the neem.

Re: Spider Mites

Mix it per the instructions on the bottle. You do not use it straight.

The cooler temps will slow them down. You will have to treat them to get rid of them.

Peace

Re: Spider Mites

if you're vegging, "safer's soap' is great for mite control...if in flower i recommend skipping the chem's and going after them manually and a tube-type vacumn cleaner can't be beat for this! just hold a couple fingers over the end of the nozzle to act as a screen and suck up the webbing and the little bastards when running nozzle over the plants...then spray some "raid" or "black flag" into the vacumn and be done with them until you repeat the process 3 days later.
