I've got 8 seeds cracked out of 12 so I'm gonna start another grow. Better odds this time. |

Stoner Buck$$: 741.81 | Re: Perlite/Vermiculite Bucket grow I had a thought you might consider. If you are using perlite-vermiculite for medium...you should be using hydro ph factors. 5.5-6.0 is my suggestion...with 5.8 being the optimum for the consistency conscious.
The plants look great, either way, but that might have been where the fem% went down...Just a thought. later |

Stoner Buck$$: 166.17 | Re: Perlite/Vermiculite Bucket grow thx for the advice I'll do that this time. The suggested ph was 6.2 but for some reason I did 6.5-6.6 I always suspected that was high since it was mentioned that the hempy buckets are a hydro grow and I've read 5.2-5.8 is the acceptable range for hydro.
also welcome aboard, your imput is invaluable |

Stoner Buck$$: 741.81 | Re: Perlite/Vermiculite Bucket grow yeah bro...use 5.8 until you get to 3rd week of flower, then drop to 5.4 and increase ph each week .1 This will be as follows week 3 5.4.......week 4 5.5.........week6 5.6......week7 5.7...see where I am going. this will make the potassium and other essential flowering elements more available to the plants while cutting down the nitrogen availability. thanks for the Thanks. Glad to be here. Peace |

Stoner Buck$$: 166.17 | Re: Perlite/Vermiculite Bucket grow One more time as the last try ended up with 3 males.
Six plants going this time. Front left is from regular bagseed, I'll call it Mexican skunk. Two Northern Lights and three Satori. Got them mixed up. The 2 shortest are on the left middle and left rear. Guessing these are the NL. They look the same to me leaf wise.
Just started 12/12 flower. Maybe a bit early but I'm more interested in getting females and cloning.

Stoner Buck$$: 166.17 | Re: Perlite/Vermiculite Bucket grow day 5 of flower 3rd day with HPS light. Changed the light cycle from 18/6 to 12/12 but forgot to change the bulb. doh!!
400 mh conversion bulb for veg, hps bulb for flower
PH 6.0
TDS 1150
btw the seeds I started before these sprouted, but bugs ate them in the grow room. I sealed the grow room best I could and got a no pest strip hanging. I let these current plants get bigger before I moved them from the closet to the grow room.
Also my PH meter, a good one Oakton, was reading .4 too low. Probably another reason I got males as my 6.4 was actually 6.8. It pays to use calibration fluid. |

Stoner Buck$$: 741.81 | Re: Perlite/Vermiculite Bucket grow yup 6.8 is definitely too high. why were you at 6.4 even. Just curious. Kinda high for soil-less growing.
You mentioned getting males. How long did you run your lights on, in the seedling development stage. On times above 18 hours are not condusive to creating fem's. 14-16 is optimum for strongest root growth, and "Henk" Of Dutch Passion seeds, mentions, in so many words...Shorter veg photo periods create more females. I veg seedlings at 16/8 and I always have a very high % of fem's. Hope this helps. Peace |

Ran the lights 18/6 in veg as well as 18/6 for the first week while they sprouted . One week with no nutes after I planted the seeds with tap roots. Three weeks in veg with nutes. |

Stoner Buck$$: 166.17 | Re: Perlite/Vermiculite Bucket grow Day 16 of flower
got 3 females, 2 hermies, 1 male out of the 6
another female, from a different grow, is in a closet under fluro
Moved the light up a bit as a couple leaves were "sweating"
currently ph 5.3 tds 1250
ph will go up .1 every week and if all works out tds will go up 100 each week
(per latewoods suggestion on the ph)
I have a TEMPERATURE AND RELATIVE HUMIDITY DATA LOGGER coming in the mail (it's the second data logger - btw) so I can have a record of temp and humidity. | |
