Re: Homegrown tasting buds?

I have some fresh clones that are ready for harvest.
I have a couple more days of flush
I usually them air dry for about 7 to 10 days hanging from string.
I will try a good cure this time, How are you using the jars? opening every few days?
I have read the cure section but does it take the long prosess with the jars to have good tasteing pot?

Re: Homegrown tasting buds?

in the past i have used the following schedule, there are several ways to do it and all of them are right............

harvest and hang 7-10 days

brown bag 7 days, open and gently move the flowers around for air exchange, leave open for about 30 mins and reclose I fold the top over and secure with clothespin

mason jars for cure, minimum 2 weeks

i do not open and close the jars because the brown bag treatment assures that the flowers are dry, i am also able to vacuum the jars so there is no air inside

if i let them hang for even 5 days they'll be well on their way to turning into dust. it's 3 days max here in the desert. after trimming, i hang em in a cool dark spot until the outter greenery feels dry to the touch but the branches still have plenty of spring left in them...then they go into mason jars, packed loose so they can be lightly shaken-stirred because they will "sweat out" a lot of moisture and need to be turned once a day so they dry evenly and helps keep mold away. the jars are opened 2-3x's/day for 15-20 minutes each and after 3 weeks they're ready for a final trim and long-term storage (i keep them in the mason jars in a cool dark spot...i use the lower shelves of the fridge)...

the whole trick with the cure is trying to get them to dry as slowly as possible. this converts the chlorophyl into complex sugars so that "green flavor" is gone and the flowers are pretty much stabilized and should last several years if properly stored.

good luck!
