I'm doing my first grow tomorrow! It's outdoors, and I know NOTHING about my seeds. I got them from a bunch of female buds my friend gave me on Friday, and hopefully it'll turn out okay. I have them germinating now in 2 seperate containers, about half are done.
I attached a pic below, of one of the containers. I'll be planting tomorrow, can't wait. I'll keep you guys updated for sure
Yup, I'm in So Cal. It's mid-February and it's like 75 F outside :P
I was planning to plant in April, but got a bit ahead of myself. It's okay though, climate's holding up well. I just need to find out when I should harvest it.
Does anyone have any suggestions for harvesting? I've never grown before, so I know nothing.
I'm in GA and usually its 30 degrees this time of year. But here lately its been t-shirt weather (70s). Then the next day ice cold, then the next day warm. What the hell? damn global warming. Anyhow the outdoor grows i've done where i planted in april or so still finished up in oct. The plant goes on light cycles so a long growing season usually leads to a bigger plant. It'd be like vegging for a long time and getting a monster in the end.
I'm trying to keep from planting in April, actually. I just thought about something with actual logic, and the police are most likely to be looking for it in October or around then. So if I plant now, and harvest in May / June, I should be pretty well off
IMO, if u plant now outside, your plants will either try to start flowering cause the days are still short, or you will have an extended veg period. I don't see how you can grow outside and expect to harvest in may or June. The days are to long and they will not flower that early outside. Oct./Nov. will be prime time to harvest your bud. Hope this helps.
Actually you still could palnt out side and harvest for may june but you will need to cover your plants your self to flower them and you will be waking up early to uncover them cos for the plant to flower you will need to put in 12 hours light and 12 dark my friend! that is the only way you can do it!
yeah, if you want to flower in may/june your going to have to put a garbage can over your plant every day at around 4pm (4:20 if fine).
And leave it on until daybreak. Or, if you can't wake up that early, just make sure the garbage can is off for no more than 12 daylight hours.
make sense?
Somewhat :P. I can't get out to my plot that early, too risky. I share a house with some buddies who (unfortunately) are totally not into da Ganja. So getting out then is a no-no... Any other way?
I snapped some pics, attached below is one of them. This is one of the stronger of the sprouts. Have it compared to my hand there too
I'm no expert at the subject by no means but do you really want to do it outdoors? There seems to be too many obstacles to get around being the season. Why don't you move it indoors? If its your first grow, your success rate at this time of year isn't gonna be good. It is possible to do a low budget grow and get something to smoke. I'm not talking about these cardboard box setups with no/or a b.s. fan, and 40w incandescent bulbs. I'm talkin about a decently lit, well ventilated, secure area. If you need to keep it away from people though i'm not sure. If no one goes snooping in your closet, maybe? Just my thoughts I don't want to discourage you i just don't want you to give up. You'll be happy and stoned as hell when you get it right.
Like I said, I live with other people, and they do the laundry (I'm lazy). So when they go to put the stuff away, they'll be snoopin' in my closet. I was actually considering an indoor grow, but they kind of ruined it .
Checked the little things today, and a few more just spat out the serrated leaves . I'm probably either going to transplant one, or plant a couple more in another area, just in case these get found. It's pretty well covered though, and I threw in some other greens around it (some weird shrub seeds, as well as some seeds to a plant that grows within 5 days ).
well if it has to be outside and you want to flower at this time of the year, plant it in a place where it will recieve a lot of direct sunlight in, say, the morning, but where later in the day it will be covered in shade. A wall facing east/west would do, or just one one side of a big tree or bush.
