The only way you can be sure they are ready to harvest is to look at the trichomes under a handheld 60-100 power microscope. You can purchase one from Radio Shack for less than $20.00. Trichomes will have 3 distinct looks: clear, cloudy, and amber. You want to harvest when approximately 30% of the trichomes have changed to amber. Hope this helps!
