i dont think so, im gonna research some more for yah, but i believe one of the only states that accepts depression anxiety for med use is california, and i thin Oregon has also allowed this. But most all other are for severe pain and Aids and Cancer patients.
Ill try calling the health dept in NC an see for yah on mon. (its sat)
UPDATE ON SAT:
This is the definition of the act, but alot of states have this definition and depression is not included in the "mental illness part". It does sound like though if you can get a doctor to sign off on anything then you are good to go under the system. You may want to call the health dept or governing body of your program and discuss with them what can and cant be done...... SECTION 3. DEFINITIONS. The following terms, as used in this Act, shall have the meanings set forth in this section: (a) “Debilitating medical condition” means: (1) cancer, glaucoma, positive status for human immunodeficiency virus, acquired immune deficiency syndrome, mental illness, Hepatitis C, or the treatment of these conditions; (2) a chronic or debilitating disease or medical condition or its treatment that produces one or more of the following: cachexia or wasting syndrome; severe or chronic pain; severe nausea; low anadamide levels, seizures, including but not limited to those characteristic of epilepsy; or severe and persistent muscle spasms, including but not limited to those characteristic of multiple sclerosis and Crohn’s disease; agitation of Alzheimer's disease; or (3) any other medical condition or its treatment when recommended in writing by a licensed medical doctor in the state of North Carolina.
